Hi! My name is Maya — I’m originally from Canada, and I’m someone who finds a lot of joy in creating calm, cared-for spaces. I’m gentle, responsible, and naturally tidy, and I truly enjoy the rhythm of looking after a home.

I work as a cook and artist, and I’m currently taking time to travel slowly and intentionally. I’m looking for house sits where I can settle in, enjoy a quiet routine, and offer you real peace of mind while you're away. Whether I’m watering plants, keeping things clean, or spending time with pets, I care deeply about making sure things feel just right when you return:)

Why they want to house sit

House sitting allows me to live more intentionally — to slow down, care for a home, and connect with new places in a meaningful way. It gives me the chance to be of service while also giving myself space to reflect, write, cook, and create.

I’m not looking for a vacation — I’m looking for a gentle way to move through the world with care and purpose. House sitting is the perfect blend of responsibility and stillness, which is exactly what I’m craving at this time in my life.

Yes! I’ve house sat for friends and family many times, caring for homes, gardens, and adorable pets while they were away. I also grew up with animals — two cats, a big dog, and two birds — so I’ve always been surrounded by furry (and feathered) friends:)

I’m reliable, clean, and attentive to detail. I know how to follow routines, water and tend to plants, administer basic pet care, and keep a home feeling warm and safe. I also work in people’s homes as a private cook, so I’m very comfortable moving respectfully in other people’s spaces.

What can they bring to the assignment

I bring a calm, grounded and loving energy and a deep sense of care. I’m the kind of person who will talk to your plants, cuddle your pets, and make sure everything feels just as you left it. I’m respectful, quiet, and naturally tidy.
