https://www.rover.com/sit/zoep26130 I’d love it if you took a gander at my Rover profile to see some more pics, reviews, and sit details! I am currently the moderator of the largest animal help+missing pet Facebook group in my region (almost 20k members and counting!!), was recently elected co-president of the Tuscaloosa Animal Welfare Collaborative, and volunteer for rescue and welfare efforts in the region.
I grew up on a horse, cattle, and veggie farm, as did my husband, so needless to say, animal and property care has been a part of our life since the start! I’ve helped raise and train many breeds of dogs, from greyhound to GSD to shitzu.
I have also helped about half a dozen horses give birth…I have seen and done it all!:) I am comfortable with injections and oral medication. I am an animal shelter volunteer and have helped groom dogs, deep clean facilities, and coordinate supply drop offs, as well. My clients range from XL Black Russian Terriers, to teacup Yorkies, to a fabulous one eyed Maine Coon…if they have fur, I love them:)
AJ is an IT professional, photographer, and has experience from his HS job every summer as a groundskeeper/lawn care and gardening specialist.
I am a Rover Star Sitter, and the top rated in my city, which I am beyond grateful for. It matters to me that clients feel their pets and property are in safe and communicative hands, and this community means the world to me. As outlined in profile, my sits have included bunnies, leopard geckos, cats and dogs, and our private+personal experience also includes horses, goats, and cows. My husband even has experience with birds!:)
After a few years of pet and house sitting via private clientele and Rover, I wanted to expand to housesitting for several reasons - one, I am newly married!!! Yay! Two, my now-husband and I (AJ) have caught the travel bug:) Three, we are living on a budget as two young newlyweds.
After almost a decade working for the county school system’s IT department, AJ now helps manage a private IT firm which largely handles government contracts, and I work in academia (Roll Tide) and music (opera singer by trade…don’t worry, I will NOT be practicing and roaring in your home, HA!)…needless to say, we are background checked from our toes to the hairs on our head, lol not lol! I recognize safety and security is imperative when one is sharing their home, so it’s always worth mentioning.
We also absolutely love the outdoors, especially hiking/nature/animals, we are huge foodies, and also major homebodies who require time unwinding on the couch (and often an afternoon nap). I love a good book and beautiful music. AJ is a professional photographer to boot, and I can promise you’ll end up with glorious pics of your pets and grounds (if desired!!)
We don’t drink besides a rare cocktail or fancy beer, nor smoke (though no judgment to anyone who partakes!!!). We are both easy-going extroverts who will greet the neighbors or strangers on the street alike, as is Southern custom. This is a way to combine some of our most favorite things: building relationships with others, pet care and animal welfare, relaxed and homey traveling, and saving money:)
Yes, very! I am trained in many different facets of animal and farm care.
We can bring keen attention to your home, grounds, and pets, excellent and friendly communication, language skills (though native English speaker, I am semi fluent in German and Italian and conversational in French and Spanish), and very physically fit bodies, with both of us being active weightlifters and hikers.

Testimonials
Zoe is exceptional
Zoe is exceptional. She has the experience and confidence to handle big dogs, and she shows them a lot of love. She visited us before the booking, and clearly understood our needs and those of the dogs. When she returned right before we left, she repeated the instructions back to confirm she knew exactly what we wanted. Then Zoe sent plenty of texts and pics to help us stay comfortable with being away. A bonus…the dogs love her!
