Friendly lady open to house &/or pet sitting opportunities

About this sitter

My name is Niamh, I am 29 years old and work as a Community Engagement Coordinator at Bournemouth Foodbank.
I am currently living with my mum after relocating back to Bournemouth, where I grew up to save some money. I love to spend time in nature, rock climb, run, swim in the sea, gardening, cooking, journalling, art, yoga and meditation. I love people and the planet and so try to live as consciously as I can.

I am looking to house sit/ pet sit/ plant sit somewhere local whilst I am living here in Bournemouth, but also would love to look after someone's home when travelling abroad. I love to explore different pockets of the world, but also love exploring my own doorstep too. I grew up with cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils, fish and love little creatures, who can be my companion or adventure buddy on runs/ trips out.

Why they want to house sit

I am not currently in a position to have my own home or pets, but would love to enjoy the perks of living alone or caring for animals or plants on a temporary basis. I am a clean, tidy and responsible lady and have thoroughly enjoyed house sitting in the past, stepping into the lives of others for a short period of time and caring for their home as if it were my own :)

Their experience

Yes, I dog and house sat in a lovely modern flat in Southbourne in spring 2025, looking after an adorable spaniel called Rufus.

I house sat in a family home in Brighton in spring 2024, looking after 2 cats. The couple were creatives and so loved the artsiness of their home and pottery dotted about the house.

I worked as an au pair in Spain for a year looking after children and the home. I was based in Malaga and was responsible for childcare and general household cleaning.

What can they bring to the assignment

I am a friendly, clean, tidy and caring young lady who is happy to help people out with looking after their homes/ pets/ plants as someone they can trust as they gallivant off to somewhere else - hopefully somewhere nice! I am reliable and happy to keep homeowners updated about anything they require of me - just let me know :)

I am vegetarian, a non-smoker, home, plant and animal lover. I mostly ride my bike, but have access to a car if needed and have lived in a variety of homes, so am comfortable with different cooking facilities, ventilation, avoiding damp and mould, boilers, heating, bleeding radiators, what to do when electricity trips etc - all the standard grown up things :) If there's anything I have not come across, I can learn or seek professional advice if it's outside of my expected capabilities.
