About this sitter

We are a British Canadian family, with two young girls who are keen to explore the world! As a family, we are super creative, practical, good at gardening/ maintenance and DIY. Dave is a creative director for an animation studio here in the UK and I am a multi product fashion & print designer. As a family, we are looking for the perfect opportunity to balance a unique holiday with working remotely, providing an endearing and responsible adventure for the family.

Dave & I were fortunate to grow up in beautiful homes (with pets) in Canada, Scotland and Somerset. Culture, language and travel are very important to us.

Dave & I are in our forties and the kids are preschool and school age. Our kids are content little souls, happiest when playing out in the garden or crafting. As a family, we all love the great outdoors, the sea, animals, gardening …and everything design.

Why they want to house sit

We are keen for our little family to discover the world! Our ultimate goal is to move abroad within the next few years. House sitting seems the perfect way to explore this plan!

Their experience

We have been home owners for over 25 years and renovated during that time frame.

As designers, our trade skills are invaluable when it comes to household maintenance and repair.

We grew up with family pets, so both well used to looking after household pets and also horses and chickens on occasion.

I myself am well used to running a household as a business, having worked for an international language school from my early teens. This included preparing the house for every new student intake, preparing meals and being a camp leader, running day trips, classes, doing gardening, cooking all meals, general household maintenance and upkeep etc.I worked like this in Scotland, Mexico and Canada.

From early teens, Dave worked on house renovations every summer and assisted with his parents’ landscaping and gardening business, preparing all ground work and gardening.

What can they bring to the assignment

Our enthusiasm, love for maintaining a home, care and respect for another homeowners’ property. Our children are very caring and respectful of new environments.
