About this sitter

Aloha, I’m Joy. I care deeply about animals, and take pride in keeping homes feeling peaceful, warm, and well looked after.

Over the past few months I’ve been traveling through Workaway, including two countryside house sits with cats, chickens, geese, and gardens. I’ve also looked after the homes of friends, neighbors, and family, making sure everything was cared for and in good order.

Whether it’s watering plants, feeding animals, or simply keeping things cozy, I enjoy bringing a sense of calm and comfort to the spaces I care for. Qigong and Yoga keep me grounded and help move through life — and house sits — with calm, presence and care.

Why they want to house sit

I love the quiet joy of looking after a space and spending time with animals. House sitting feels like a beautiful exchange — offering care, presence, and respect in return for a peaceful place to land.

I don’t have pets of my own at the moment, since I travel often and wouldn’t want to cause them stress.

It suits my nature: thoughtful, grounded, and happy to be in gentle company.

Their experience

Yes, I’ve cared for a variety of homes and animals through Workaway and beyond. Most recently, I completed two countryside house sits: a 5-day stay for a family with cats and chickens, and a 19-day sit caring for cats, chickens, geese, and a large garden.
For the longer stay, I arrived a few days early so my host could show me around and feel at ease before leaving. He later shared:
