About this sitter
I'm a semi-retired journalist, part-time accounting administrator, longtime animal volunteer and proud mama of many rescue pups and cats, specifically the kind that find and "rescue" me! Lived in big cities on East and West coasts (US) and farm towns, too. This year I had to say good bye to my sweet mostly blind kitty, and I would like to take care of yours before I commit to bring more animals into my home again.
Why they want to house sit
I have a passion for animals and traveling, not so much to see the sights but to experience other places. As a writer, I take my work with me. When I had dogs and cats, I always worried about finding the right person to stay with my precious brood. It's important to find someone who appreciates them and I take the responsibility seriously. Also handy around a garden!
Their experience
I am a shelter volunteer and love domestic animals. Beyond my own, I have spoiled border collies, a Great Dane, a pair of Spaniels, a cat that needed insulin injections, numerous mutts, and cared for chickens, a fish pond, rooster, hamster, ducks, and a variety of indoor cats - one very senior - and many feral cats that belonged to others.
What can they bring to the assignment
I am a responsible, resourceful, longtime home owner who understands that animals - like children! - want to know they are loved and cared for and that their routine is respected. I can bring that to the assignment. I also know how important it is for me to receive updates about my pets in my absence, so I like to do the same.

Wonderful house & pet sitter
Jane is an absolute gem of a house sitter. She took great care of our three kittens, sent us thoughtful daily updates, and left our home in spotless, spick-and-span condition. She even surprised the kitties with a new feather wand toy! We felt completely reassured on our travels knowing our home and cats were in her hands. We'd recommend her to anyone!

Great Housesitter
Janie drove over from North Carolina to Knoxville, TN to take care of my dog BeBe and my house while I was away for a week, and I am so grateful for the peace of mind she provided me. We initially met through this site, then had a phone conversation and then through e-mail and text we made a plan for her visit. I felt comfortable right from the start, and she was the perfect house guest and caretaker. She made sure that BeBe got her medication supplements and took her for walks and outings, and kept in touch daily with me with photos and texts. Everything was handled beautifully while I was away and I not only highly recommend Janie, I hope she will consider coming back if I need to leave BeBe at home again!

Outstanding Housesitter!
Janie is an immediately likeable human being both to me and my pets. Truly, she connected so quickly, and, over the week, so deeply, with my dog and cats that they weren't all that thrilled to see me return! Jane is Wonderful! 5 STARS!
We contacted Jane regarding a very short notice, week long sitting opportunity because another sitter cancelled just hours before we were leaving town. She was initially interested in our sit but couldn't make all the days. Once she learned of our predicament, she agreed to help us without hesitation. After a brief phone conversation Jane agreed to meet with our neighbor who checked on our cats 2 days before she could arrive. She was great with our cats, sending us regular updates and photos, giving us peace of mind that they were in good hands. She took care of our house and garden as well. We could not be more impressed with her. She really came through for us!
