I am a retired & divorced Investment Banker, having recently returned to South Africa, (where I have spent most of my life), after living in London for almost 4 years. I used to own a house in Johannesburg which was rented out to a major international hotel group for one of their senior executives - I have a good understanding of the need to take care of someone's home!
I have looked after swimming pools for more than 40 years and take pride in keeping them spotless and always ready for a good swim.
As a teenager I kept 2 horses, some chickens & ducks, and have always had 2 or 3 dogs and a cat or 3! So, I am quite versatile!
I am a quiet, reliable, fit & healthy sober individual (and non-smoker), happy with my own company reading a good book, or chatting with the friendly neighbours! I have a clean driver’s licence.
I like a nice garden to walk around and relax in (when the weather is nice!).
I started house sitting during 2022 and have so far done 11 successfully (ranging from 2, 3 and 4 weeks, plus 1 of 3 months) in the UK, Spain, Panama & France - in early 2023 I took care of a very old traditional Andalusian house in the Old Town of Tarifa Spain, where I also had to look after a 100 pot plants on a roof top garden. Then I looked after a beautiful Swiss Shepherd dog in San Carlos Panama for about 3 weeks. Besides dogs, I have also had to look after cats and even some fish and a large vegetable garden
I have looked after dogs, cats and fish and vegetable gardens during my house-sitting experience!
I am keen on a house sit of anything from 2 to 6 months, if required by a home owner who spends considerable time away - I love country (rural) or beach locations, where tranquillity prevails!
I don’t mind travelling to far away destinations, (but depending on the travel costs).

House sitting gives me the opportunity to travel and see new places and an interesting change to the normal routine of staying in one place. I also enjoy meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.
