About this sitter

We are a responsible, friendly, and practical family from Sweden with two wonderful, quite calm sons (ages 8 and 11). My wife and I both hold PhDs and are homeowners who value a tidy, well-cared-for space. While we currently live in a large house, we previously lived in a four-room apartment, so we are completely comfortable with apartment living and respecting building dynamics. As a family, we enjoy a mix of activities, from exploring local museums and nature trails to relaxing at home.

We are looking for house-sitting opportunities that allow us to live like locals in a new community. A 'home base' where we can care for pets and a property is our ideal way to travel and create lasting family memories. We are open to various locations and are excited to find a great match with a homeowner and their beloved pets.

Why they want to house sit

We want to house-sit because it perfectly combines our two main passions: traveling and caring for animals. For us, a house is much more personal and enjoyable than a hotel; it allows our family to settle in, cook our own meals, and truly experience a neighborhood. It's also a fantastic way to convince our kids to come on vacation! They are huge animal lovers and get genuinely excited about the responsibility and fun of looking after new animal friends while we explore a new part of the world together.

Their experience

Our experience with animals is lifelong. I grew up with dogs and have trained four puppies using clicker training. My wife grew up with tortoises, birds, and rabbits. We currently have two cats of our own: Simba (a gorgeous, long-furred Ragdoll mix born in 2021) and Silvia (born in 2023). Because Simba leaves his long fur everywhere, we are deeply accustomed to daily grooming routines and keeping a home thoroughly clean! Beyond our own pets, we frequently take care of our neighbor's 20-year-old senior cat and our tenant's 6-year-old cat, which has given us fantastic experience with a wide range of feline ages and personalities.

Most importantly, we have direct experience providing dedicated medical care for pets. We have successfully managed:

Administering daily medication for a dog with a two-year heart condition.

Treating a serious wound on our cat, which involved giving both antibiotics and pain killers for three weeks.

We are calm and competent in handling pet-care needs, both routine and unexpected.
