I am a retired teacher/school librarian in Tennessee. Travel is something I love to do, and I made a promise to myself I would do a lot more of it when I stopped working. So I was very excited when I found the Mind My Home website! Being a home sitter is not new to me. When I was working as a Nanny, the parents asked me to take care of their home while they traveled to Boston and Sweden. Some of the places I have visited are Boston, NYC, the Bahamas and Jamaica. The UK, Europe, and Australia are on my bucket list of places to see. As well as traveling the USA cross-country

Why they want to house sit

I want to house sit because it would be a comfortable place to stay instead of dirty motel rooms that are way too expensive. Sometimes they can be less than safe for a woman traveling

Their experience

Yes, because I house sat for two different families when I was working as a Nanny. It was important for the families that things were kept clean and neat, pets are fed well and had plenty of fresh water, and that they are walked and exercised at least two times a day. Also, no strangers are allowed to stay overnight or to come inside at all.

What can they bring to the assignment

Being a teacher and librarian, as well as working with children for over twenty-five years in childcare, I had no issues involving safety or behavior. I always make my interactions fun and engaging. This works for pets as well! Whatever the homeowner wants done in their absence I make sure I do it. Most of the neighbors reported to the homeowners that I kept a close eye on the children, and worked with a high level of integrity.
