About this sitter

My name is Sol Alexandria and I’m a multimedia artist, circus instructor & performer, writer, and artistic consultant based between rural New York and the wider world. I’ve spent the past decade weaving together creative work with deep care for home, land, and community. My days often include writing, cooking, tending to plants, and supporting grassroots organizations with liberatory curriculum and artistic strategy.

I’m seeking long-term house sits (3 months or more) in tranquil, nature-rich environments. Ideally in places with history, land to walk and tend, and space to root in for creative focus. I value privacy, presence, and intentional living. I bring care, respect, and steadiness to the spaces I inhabit.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting allows me to live slowly and with integrity. Tending not just to a home but to a way of life that centers trust, reciprocity, and relationship with place. I’m currently working remotely and finishing a memoir manuscript, and am looking for peaceful, grounded environments where I can be of service while nourishing my creative life.

I'm also seriously considering and walking the path of relocating long-term to Ireland or elsewhere abroad, and house sitting offers a beautiful and meaningful way to explore different areas while contributing to the care of a home and land.

Yes. While I’m new to formal house sitting platforms, I bring years of experience caring for the homes, animals, and gardens of loved ones, friends, and community members. These have included both short- and long-term stays in rural and urban settings, where I’ve been entrusted with home care, land tending, and offering support to homeschooling families through creative curriculum and nourishing meals.

For the past two years, I’ve also been co-stewarding 17.5 acres of forest and wetland, managing gardens, home infrastructure, and seasonal rhythms. I’m familiar with living simply and intentionally, and approach every home with a sense of grounded care, adaptability, and attentiveness.

What can they bring to the assignment

I bring calm presence, clear communication, self-sufficiency, and care. I’m skilled in light home maintenance, basic repairs, and have extensive skillsets in indigenous land stewardship ceremony & practices. I’ve cultivated vegetable, herb, and medicinal gardens, cared for orchards, and love to cook nourishing, seasonal meals from the abundance that comes from the land. I am looking to expand my knowledge in taking care of livestock and will be seeking work in whichever area I am in longterm that exposes me to the world of tending to sheep, horses, goats, pigs and cows.

I’m organized, detail-oriented, and naturally proactive as I tend to notice what needs attention before it becomes a problem. I’m quiet, non-smoking, substance-free, and bring a sense of grounded hospitality. Whether welcoming occasional guests, tending the fire, or simply offering a steady presence in your absence, I’ll treat your home and land with the love and respect I offer my own.
