About this sitter
Hi! We are Alison and Darren.
We’re both semi-retired and are now on the road. We’ve made it our mission to travel and enjoy a life of meeting people and their pets.
When house sitting, we’re looking for a clean and safe home. We need to be able to park our suv somewhere.
We’ve owned cats for decades and have lots of experience with dogs too.
Why they want to house sit
We love to explore different places and get to know other people’s pets.
Housesitting gives us the opportunity to experience places in a more realistic way as well as stay connected to the animals we love.

We have tons of experience with dogs and cats. To date (Jan/26), we’ve cared for 12 dogs and 15 cats.
What can they bring to the assignment
Our high level of experience, maturity, responsibility and genuine love for animals provide peace of mind while you are away.
You can rely on us to care for your fur babies and your home in the way you do, in addition to caring for your home. You will return to a clean home too!
We work from home, so although we enjoy exploring, we spend a good chunk of time at home, giving plenty of attention to your pets.
We are highly respectful of the fact that we are guests in your home.

This was the second sit
This was the second sit Ali and Darren did for us. Once again, they were fabulous. Daily updates, proof of life, they even were able to semi domesticate a feral kitten we have been feeding. She now allows us to rub her. Mainly while eating,but what progress! I received video walkthroughs on departure days and arrived home to a sparkling home! Patches loves them and was so unstressed by our not being here she didn't even greet us at the door as she normally would .. I think if they had wanted, she would have willingly gone with them!!! Thank you again Ali and Darren. Enjoy your travels and if ever you decide to come back to this area, let us know!! Would honor having you back

Wonderful
It will be hard to describe how extremely wonderful Ali and Darren were. Daily updates (several videos and photos) daily to show us how much our Patches was enjoying their care. So much so,she allowed Darren to hold her which is a rarity in and of itself. Communication, reliability, and cleanliness were above reproof. We are looking forward to their return next week to continue for us. They are truly jewels in the house/pet sitting community!

Amazing
Alison and Darren were amazing. They communicated daily, took amazing care of my pups, and left my home better than it was when they arrived. They cleaned, replaced some light bulbs AND Darren fixed a poorly working shower head! They absolutely exceeded all of my expectations!

Fantastic sitters
Alison and Darren were fantastic sitters! They are great communicators at all time, and were lovely to visit with for a short time before we took off. Most importantly, they took wonderful care of our kitty cat, and our home. We came back to a home perhaps even cleaner than we had left, and very happy Domino. We can't wait for Alison and Darren will sit for us again, and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone, anywhere!

Welcome back anytime
It was a pleasure having Alison and Darren pet/house sitting for me. They arrived the night before I left and I welcomed that. They were very communicative and cared for my furry babies well. Superb house sitters
Alison and Darren were superb house sitters and we are so grateful that they chose our home to stay in. The came into town a day early so that they could come over and meet us the afternoon before the sit and get to meet the pets. It also gave us a chance to show them around the house and how things work - we really appreciated them doing it. Throughout the stay they sent us regular photos and videos of Pumpkin and Gracie and it was evident they were well looked after and loved. The house was so well taken care of, plants all watered and cared for. I really think the house was cleaner when we got home than when we left it for them - they did such a great job and even left us a vase of flowers. Thank you Alison and Darren - we hope to have you stay with us again in the future.

Wonderful house and pet sitters
Alison and Darren were such wonderful house and pet sitters- their communication was fabulous both before and during the sit- they sent pics and videos daily and checked in a couple times a day. Unfortunately, our senior dog wasn't feeling well and kept them up at night a bit...which is very rare for her...but Alison and Darren were so caring and accommodating, trying everything they could to make our dog more settled and comfortable. They washed all the sheets and towels, and made sure the house was spotless when they left. When they found out our flight was delayed getting home, they came back to our house in the evening to walk our dog and check on our cat one last time...even when they had started their next sit in a neighboring town. We so appreciate their care of our home and animals, and we'd welcome them back anytime for a sit! (And our doggie is feeling much much better now :)

Allison and Darren were the best! They took incredibly good care of our dog. She (Willa) went on field trips and just had a great time. Our house was immaculate when we got home. Communication was just the right amount. We would love to have them back anytime!

Allison and Darren were amazing
Allison and Darren were amazing! Among the very best sitters we’ve had. Communication pre sit and during sit was excellent. The fur kids warmed up to them immediately and they provided excellent care to our fur babies and our property. Their departure and our arrival were communicated, coordinate well in advance and it was seamless. The house was well cared for and very clean when we arrived home. We would love to have them sit for our kids again!

Alison was a Godsend for us
Alison was a Godsend for us! One of our cats was injured two days before we were about to leave, and he ended up requiring extra care and medication. And while I had made arrangements with someone else to stay at our place for the first few days of our trip, she was not entirely comfortable with the extra care required. Thankfully, Alison was willing to step in and able to come early (so her sit was actually March9-25). And because she has four cats of her own, we felt completely comfortable leaving our hurt guy in her care. She took great care of both cats and our home and sent regular updates on how things were going. We came home to happy, healthy cats, a clean home, and even some beautiful tulips. I would highly recommend Alison and hope she'll come to North Van to sit for us again. :)

Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter
Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! Alison was punctual with responses, attentive to our cats and respectful of our home. She went above and beyond, washing the sheets which was a glorious surprise when we arrived home very late. She sent photo updates and voice notes and we felt at ease from start to finish. We wouldn’t hesitate to have her back!

We would not hesitate to have Allison back
My husband and I got a really good feeling from Allison right from the beginning! She was the first person we interviewed and we booked her immediately after. Allison was very communicative, reliable, and very easy to get along with! We have 3 bengal cats, who can be a handful, and we felt secure leaving them in Allison’s care because of all her experience with pet sitting and her love for cats! We would not hesitate to have Allison back!
