About this sitter
Luce is from Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Québec, while Eric hails from New York. We are retired professors who are now students of the world and loving every minute of it!
We have been house and pet sitters since 1997 and truly feel blessed beyond measure to have met so many lovely furry companions.
We ran our own Bed and Breakfast, in Sechelt, British Columbia, Canada for nine years. As part of our B and B, we maintained a five-story “tapestry” garden; so, we have vast experience in maintaining plants and flowers.

Why they want to house sit
As former professors, we had the good fortune to travel on many sabbaticals and discover other cultures and ways of living. Since childhood we have been around animals and feel at home with them. The combination of both brings real meaning into our lives.
Our goal is to give you peace of mind when you go away. We know that your house and your pet come first. We provide a fun-loving atmosphere for your pets while ensuring their safety and well-being.
We are happy to care for gardens and domestic animals. We enjoy both nature and cities and so are open to house-sitting in either type of location.
Their experience
We have housesat, for several months each, large properties—on Quadra Island, British Columbia, Canada, in Cuncumen, Chile and in Tarifa, Spain. Other assignments have taken us to many parts of the world, including Mexico, the US, and other parts of Canada.

We pride ourselves on the meticulous care of our own home and we would bring that very same care to your property. We are also trustworthy, dependable, non-smoking and have solid references. We have cared for a variety of animals—including sheep, donkeys, horses, and, of course, cats and dogs.

The Perfect Housesitters!!!
Eric and Luce are the most perfect housesitters, if you are looking for someone to care for your home and pet you really couldn't find a couple more conscientious, reliable and caring. From our first conversation I knew that Eric & Luce were everything that you could look for in a housesitter as their thoughtful questions showed how obviously very experienced they are. From that point on my mind was at ease that our home and pet would be well looked after and how right I was. Also, I would be remiss not to mention how absolutely spotless our home was upon my return not to mention the fact that Binny, our geriatric cat, seemed disappointed to see me instead of Eric & Luce which is really what made me happiest. All in all what more could you ask for, I cannot give a higher recommendation!

Eric and Luce are the BEST responsible, communicative
If you are looking for someone to care for your pets and not have to worry about your home at the same time, contact Eric and Luce. Very honest, trustworthy and respectful of your home and most importantly, they are interested in your pet, their likes , dislikes, food, habits, schedule etc. With your home they ask intelligent questions about maintenance and are ready to deal with any issues should they arise. As people, we now consider them friends as they so easily have become part of our lives. They have sat our dog Jessie twice, then after Jessie died, they stayed with our cat Henry. And this was all through the pandemic period. Cognizant of preventive pandemic protocols, you can feel comfortable in their presence. While we were away, we got regular updates with photos of how our pets were doing in our absence. All in all, you could not train someone to be better than Eric and Luce are at taking care of your pets and home. When we returned from our trip, the house was cleaner than we left it and our pet was content. In fact, almost disinterested that we were back! I guess they did a good job!

House sit May/June 2019 in Tarifa Andalucia
Luce and Eric did a superb job in looking after our house, car and roof garden during May and June of 2019. The house was kept impeccable and they not only looked after all the plants in our roof garden but they also bought some more and potted them up for us. We would heartily recommend them to any other house owner looking for very honest and responsible house sitters.

We couldn't have loved Luce and Eric more as housesitters, and all round wonderfully warm people, if we tried. Our three dogs adored them, actually waiting by the front door when they left, as if hoping they would come back ! (and we hope they do) :) They took care of our very large property ( 7 acres) watering the garden, picking weeds, etc. and giving our eldest dog medicine. They kept us updated- we didn't worry at all knowing they were so well cared for. The house was even cleaner than when we left, so what a treat that was, as we came back very tired from our travels. We can't thank them enough, and we are so grateful to them,--it was such a fantastic fit . They are a couple who are super reliable, kind and generous with their time to the house, property and animals. Please come back soon! We all miss you !! :)
