Visiting daughter in Vancouver

About this sitter

I've done a lot of travelling in my time but am now settled with my husband in Northern Ireland. For my house sit I'm looking for a home from home, somewhere that feels safe and I can come back to and relax. I'm happy to look after the house during my stay.

Why they want to house sit

Last year I had brain surgery which means I've had to give up work and thus become frugal with my money. My main aim is to spend quality time with my daughter, who is my only child, and I see house sitting as a way of achieving this. I've carried out informal house sitting in my younger years as a way of seeing different places and meeting new people, I absolutely loved it. I see it as a win win situation for both the homeowner and house sitter.

Their experience

As above, I house sat informally in the past. This was through word of mouth and I found the experience simply amazing. It was exciting to see new places and I felt very privileged that strangers would welcome me, as a stranger, into their home. Many became friends. I previously back packed extensively so have an adventurous spirit and have seen a vast array of shelters, from bamboo huts to millionaires mansions. I have deep respect for whatever home I'm invited into.

What can they bring to the assignment

First and foremost I bring trust. I will treat your home as if it were my own. It's imperative to me that the trust is reciprocal. I will treat your home with respect and leave everything as I find it. I can carry out light garden maintenence and look after any houseplants you may have.
