About this sitter
Kia ora,
We are a married couple from each end of the planet. We met and married in New Zealand, which is where Darryl is originally from.
Darryl: I was born and raised in New Zealand and have spent most of my adult life living abroad.
Larissa: I am a German who grew up in Russia and has been lucky enough to have lived in New Zealand for over 8 years, where I met and married Darryl many years back.
We both grew up having a family pet, which taught us the values of caring for pets so they do feel like they are part of the family.
Currently, we call Germany home, but we have lived in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Russia and have traveled to many more countries between us. As you’ll see from our photos, we are not too far from animals wherever we are.
Why they want to house sit
Looking forward to spending some time traveling again, meeting and house-sitting for you and your pets soon.

Between us, we have experience with most common animals from having had them in our households or spending time on the farm that other family members owned.
We have had some house-sitting experience over the years between different countries during our adventures. If required, we can provide you with a reference from a house-sitting job.

Just the best housesitter
We feel very lucky to have found these cat sitters and can highly recommend them. Our request was quite last-minute, but they responded immediately. From the first contact, we felt reassured that both our cats and our home would be in good hands. It didn’t take long before the cats became comfortable and even affectionate with them. It was clear they know how to read animals’ needs and personalities, which gave us great peace of mind. One of the things we appreciated was the good WhatsApp communication. Most days, they sent us short updates, photos, or little notes about how the cats were doing. This was the perfect balance: we always felt connected and informed, but never overwhelmed. Being able to see that our cats were relaxed and happy made our time away much easier. We were also impressed by the care they showed for our apartment. When we returned, the place was cleaned and everything was exactly as we had left it. The plants looked better than before! It’s not always a given that sitters will treat your home with such respect, but in this case, they truly went above and beyond. Overall, what could have been a stressful situation turned out to be smooth and reassuring thanks to their help. They combined flexibility, responsibility, kindness, and great communication in a way that is rare to find. We are very grateful and would not hesitate to welcome them here again. If you are looking for reliable sitters who will treat your pets and your home with genuine care, they are an excellent choice.
