About this sitter

I’ve made my home by the sea and mountains, where I enjoy swimming, hiking, reading, writing, and reflecting. I relocated here for retirement after spending my working life in cities.

While I value this quieter life, I also enjoy a change of pace. At times I miss the bustle of city life — sitting in a street café with a coffee, watching the world go by. I prefer immersion rather than just passing through a place.

Pets add a special dimension for me, whether it’s sharing a walk outdoors or having calm company while reading. I make sure they feel settled and well cared for, and I find things work best when days follow a natural rhythm of activity and rest.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting makes travel more affordable and lets me experience places in a more genuine, local way.

I enjoy being in new surroundings — it keeps me refreshed and open to new perspectives — and house sitting allows me to combine that with the companionship of animals.

Over time, and after three years on the platform, my preference has shifted toward building ongoing relationships with homeowners. This allows me to return to familiar environments, rather than repeatedly settling into new homes and routines, while still enjoying a welcome change from my usual home.

I travel light, respect the home and community, and live fairly simply—non-smoker, very occasional drinker, and I keep mentally and physically active.

My career involved handling sensitive responsibilities where sound judgment and follow-through were essential, and I bring that same approach to house-sitting.

I provide proof of identity in advance of the sit. Travel and arrival are planned with built-in time buffers to account for possible delays, ensuring I arrive on schedule.

I’m drawn to house-sits built on mutual trust, clear communication, and a shared sense of responsibility. The exploratory video call is a chance for us to get to know one another and see whether the sit feels like a good fit. I prefer not to make decisions during the call itself, and instead leave a short pause afterwards so we can both reflect and ask any follow-up questions. I’ve found this leads to calmer, clearer decisions all round.
