About this sitter

We are Daniela and Michal, a couple who are living a colourful life in the creative and quirky town of Bishop’s Castle in Shropshire.

Daniela was born in England and has Spanish, Italian, Irish, and Indian heritage. She owns a cleaning and property management business for short-term lettings, and loves getting stuck into creative projects, from travel writing to making jewellery to cooking and spending time with family and friends. She has previously lived in Czechia, Slovakia, and Cornwall, but has happily called Shropshire home for the past six years.

Michal was born in former Czechoslovakia and has been living in the UK for over ten years, now with UK citizenship. He works as a Bookkeeper and a Czech-English interpreter, and also holds a qualification in fitness and nutrition. He’s a keen reader, nature lover and enjoys visiting his family back in Czechia whenever he can.

We are both self-employed and deeply value the relationships we have built with our loyal, long-term clients. But in reality, we are in it for the animals!

As we run a premium cleaning and property care business, we pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of service, treating every space with respect.

Why they want to house sit

For us, house sitting is the perfect way to combine our values, which are caring for others, experiencing new places, and spending time with animals. Running our own business can be rewarding but also demanding, and caring for pets offers a grounding and restorative balance, teaching us to slow down and appreciate the world around us.

Animals have always been at the heart of our lives — from Daniela’s time looking after hostel pets across Europe to Michal’s childhood spent on his grandparents’ smallholding in Czechia. When we house sit, it never feels like “work”; it feels like being exactly where we’re meant to be, sharing love, cuddles, and companionship with furry (and sometimes feathery!) friends while offering homeowners peace of mind.

Their experience

We have over 10 years of combined experience in house and pet sitting across Spain, Italy, Sicily, Portugal, England, Wales, the Czech Republic, Albania, and Romania. We are also part of the "Trusted Housesitters" community, and so we can provide glowing references from past sits and clients.

In addition to house sitting, we run a premium cleaning and property management business in the UK, responsible for more than 10 holiday properties. This means we are highly skilled at maintaining homes to an exceptional standard. We are also well-accustomed to pets being part of daily life - dogs, cats, chickens, and even talkative parrots often keep us company while we work.

We bring warmth, reliability and genuine love for animals. We treat every home and pet as if they were our own and we take pride in leaving spaces clean, well cared for, and full of positive energy. Daniela has a natural gift with animals, especially dogs and cats, whilst Michal has a calm and grounding presence that animals are instinctively drawn to.

Because of our background in cleaning and property care, you can also trust that your home will be in excellent hands. We are attentive, proactive and respectful, and we adapt easily to your pets’ routines. Most importantly, we will always make sure that they feel loved, safe, and happy whilst you’re away.
