About this sitter

Hello, bonjour§ I am Aurore, a 49 yo translator who lives in a small village in the south of France, and loves to travel. I lived in the United States for 19 years (2 years in Connecticut, and 17 in Chicago) and held many different positions during that time, but always related to writing and language. I have had cats my whole adult life, and a weird little dog, Sake, a Japanese Chin mix that was the most peculiar little thing (he HATED going out!) Nowadays, I enjoy mountain hiking, going to the beach early in the morning, drawing, cooking and baking (ask me about my Yule log!) and reading good thrillers. Being back in Europe I am taking great pleasure in exploring cities big and small that come my way, and if I can be useful while at it, all the better:

Why they want to house sit

As a home owner, I know it can be stressful to leave your house unattended for stretches of time, and of course even more so when you have pets to take care of. I never liked kennels myself, and imagine that most people share the same feeling. Working out a mutually beneficial deal between two people who love (or have) to travel seems ideal to me.

Their experience

I am an experienced pet parent - 5 cats and 1 dog during my "grown up" years, and cared for them from kitten and puppy stage to seniors. Giving medication has unfortunately been a hurdle that I had to overcome. I have been registered on Trusted House Sitters for almost a year now, and have 11 five-star reviews on the site, besides having done it unofficially for years for friends of mine. I tend to bond very well with animals who recognize in me the animal lover that I am.

What can they bring to the assignment

I am very enthusiastic, and have a lot of cuddles to give for the pets who want them (not all do). I am extremely active and love going on walks with the eager pups, but I also love staying home at night with a book. I bring a loving, respectful presence that is so important for the pets more or less anxious to be left without their humans.
