About this sitter

I am recently retired after 46 years of leading schools internationally, and now have the freedom to combine my love of travel with the opportunity to serve others through house sitting. My wife, Marguerite, and I have been happily married for 46 years, and together we bring a lifetime of stability, responsibility, and genuine care to every commitment we make. We are especially available during the months of January and February each year, and we promise to look after your home with 100% dedication—as if it were our very own. Respectful, trustworthy, and conscientious, we would be delighted to provide you with peace of mind while you are away.

Why they want to house sit

We are a retired, responsible couple with a beautiful holiday home of our own, so we understand exactly how important it is to feel your property is in safe hands. Each year we are available to house sit between 14th January and 1st March—a perfect six-week window while our own home is under site maintenance. Although we could spend that time with our family and many friends in the UK and overseas (including our four wonderful grandchildren—two here in Britain and two in New Zealand), we prefer the adventure and respectfulness of discovering a new location without intruding on family space. With 46 years of marriage and experience caring for our own home, we will look after yours with the same commitment, attention, and love we give our own.

Yes. While we have not previously house-sat for strangers, we are highly experienced in caring for our own beautiful homes over many years, including our current holiday home which requires constant upkeep and attention. We take pride in maintaining our properties to the highest standard, ensuring they are always secure, welcoming, and well cared for. In addition, my wife is already registered as a house and pet sitter in the UK, further demonstrating our commitment and suitability for this responsibility. You can be assured that we will bring the same care, respect, and attention to your home as we do to our own.
