About this sitter
Half Dutch, half American former academic librarian seeking to travel the world while having a quiet place to land and still get pet cuddles.
Why they want to house sit
Having grown up in rural isolation, I love to travel, but have found I do best with a quiet "home" base and time with animal companions.
Their experience
I worked at a respected Humane Society immediately after university, and it was there I learned responsible pet ownership and simple vet tech skills like vaccinations and microchipping.
I've done at least 30 pet sits, ranging from a few weeks to months. Most have been dogs and cats, from Belgian shepherds to dachshunds and Mexican hairless to Persians, but also reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs and a few birds and chickens.
What can they bring to the assignment
I am conscientious, resourceful, quiet and private. I really enjoy animals and experiencing new places in a more relaxed fashion than non-stop sightseeing, so I typically spend a lot of time with the pets. I strive to leave the home in the same or better condition as when I arrived.
