We're a very handy, conscientious, practical, animal-loving couple in our sixties living in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. We especially adore cats. We recently had to say goodbye to our last cat, allowing us the flexibility now to look after your house and cats. We have been cat owners almost continuously for close to 40 years, and have been a two cat household for many of those years. We have also undertaken several stray/feral cat rescues and adoptions. Both of us had cats and dogs growing up.

We also enjoy feeding birds and squirrels, and keep a steady stream of hummingbirds at our feeder with fresh nectar.

Brent is a retired automotive engineer and I'm a self-employed genetic genealogist. We have lived in and lovingly maintained a 100+ year-old house for close to 40 years, doing most of the maintenance ourselves, including refinishing our hard wood floors ourselves, and painting the interior and exterior of the house. Brent doubled the size of our garage (in a very charming style) without any professional help. Brent has basic electrical and plumbing skills. Brent's hobby is restoring antique cars, so he is very handy with all tools. Mary's hobbies are refinishing antique furniture and gardening. We maintain a sizable vegetable and flower garden.

What can they bring to the assignment

We have all the basic skills needed to lovingly care for your home in your absence - keeping your home clean and well maintained, caring for your houseplants, maintaining the security of your home, etc. We both have loads of common sense, which guides us through any situations that may arise. Brent's home-handyman skills are an extra benefit, when needed. Just as important is our love of animals! We are especially fond of cats and look forward to lavishing our kitty-love on your baby.
