My name is Valerie, I am an active 70 year young, retired in July 2024. Since I started house sitting again in Sept 2024 I am now hoping to travel coast to coast looking for the perfect forever home and location while keeping company and enjoying other folks pets.

Raised my family in Toronto, I became a widow in 2001, moved to Calgary 2008 to be closer to my children. Currently, while in Toronto I stay with my sister when in between house sits until I settle permanently.

I worked for a large telecom company in Calgary , while doing so I housesat in the Calgary area for the first 2 years just to get to know the neighbourhoods in the Calgary area.

In 2010 I purchased a clients townhouse and her fur baby feline came with the house, which just delighted me, as my client unfortunately had a stroke shortly after her holiday return and decided it was best to move to supportive living accommodations in Calgary.

I retired from telecom industry in 2018 and planned and ventured on a western touring trip. Along the way I met a wonderful couple who invited me to visit them in Yellowknife, NWT. Yellowknife was not on my original western Canada tour!

My education did focus on aspects of different cultures and I became very curious with Canadian Indigenous peoples of the Territories, their lifestyle and communities in the Arctic.

My curiosity did not stop with the folks of the Arctic as I was offered a position in the main industry in NWT at remote diamond mine which I took, . I am now permanently retired, and thoroughly enjoying travelling about pet/house sitting to different cities and neighbourhoods and thoroughly enjoying being with their precious pets, who at the end of the sit term also become precious to me.

As a pet sitter I assure you that I follow the individual pets routine and schedules provided for each pet; i.e. meal & water times, daily pet and home maintenance and lots of creature care time with soft voice chatter, play and cuddles. For older pets lots of patience and gentleness.

Being a pet owner for many years I recognize and I am sensitive to the change pets experience when their owners leave to travel. To bond and gain the pets trust I spend time patiently in chatter, quiet calmness, gentle pats and play which further helps me build trust and familiarity with each pet.

I retire early and rise early, tend to the fur babies morning feedings and any additional morning routines necessary.

Your mail and deliveries will be collected, indoor and outdoor plants watered, and your home and its furnishings will be well kept, sitter used area's daily cleaned and maintained as upon your return not only will your greeted with your well cared for pets and your home as you left it.

I am a quiet gentle person and I am pretty much a home body, as I am avid knitter and better yet with with a fur baby close by keeping each other company.

I have never had a problem bonding with the pets left in my care as I quietly chatter to them all the time with lots of pats, chatter, encouragement, inter-action and play.

When I do go out, having a pet at home is totally on my mind and I feel the urgency to get back home as one does with a family/children/pets at home.

In closing I want you to know that I do not smoke nor do I indulge in alcohol/drugs, as well I do not entertain and I will totally respect your privacy. Upon your return you will find your home and plants as you left them and a very happy, well cared for fur babies.

During your absence I will provide daily random photos of your pets and always available for messaging on WhatsApp. I will be delighted to hear from you to answer your questions and to learn more about your needs as home owner and your pet care.
