THE DETAILS:

I was born in 1987 in Northern MN, growing up fishing and hunting and shoveling snow. We had golden retrievers, black labradors, and turtles. Although I prefer dogs, I also get along well with cats and have done

I moved to Germany at age 19 to be an au pair / nanny, learned the language, studied a B.A., and became a German citizen.

I moved to England in 2018, founded a charity in non-invasive biomedical therapy and research, and ran a small clinic there for 8 years.

In 2024 I purchased an apartment in Romania and have been a digital nomad ever since.

I have extensive volunteering experience, including AmeriCorps and Rotary, and was bestowed a Paul Harris for my outstanding contributions.

Why they want to house sit

WHY I WANT TO HOUSE SIT
- I've house sat previously and loved it
- It's a great way to explore new areas with an eye toward re-settling
- It's often difficult to find short-term rentals in the US as a digital nomad, "travelling slowly" as the saying goes, to explore new cities and cultures
- It gives me a chance to save up toward starting a small, organic, off-grid farm with my cousin

After living in Europe for the past 20 years, this is a great way for me to transition back to living in the states.

Their experience

I am very experienced in house-sitting and pet sitting.

Although I'm new to this website, I am happy to send as many references as you'd like (telephone numbers, Facebook links and email addresses of people for whom I've house sat and pet sat).

What can they bring to the assignment

I can drive a manual / stick shift car or truck, and can use my own vehicle if needed.

I can confidently:
- Make minor repairs to facades, flooring, furniture (alliteration was not intended... I suppose I can do grouting, tiling, drywall and stucco patches too if supplies are handy)
- Find and fix plumbing leaks
- Keep pipes from freezing and shovel snow
- Maintain a garden and landscaping
- Care for chickens, dogs, cats, turtles, birds (have had prior experience)
- Provide first-aid and CPR in emergencies

I keep a very clean, well-organized and tidy home. I'm also ready and willing to learn new things.
