About this sitter

We are a 60something couple with the blessing of a full life with our combination of life skills and experiences: 45+ years of business in real estate ownership and management including everything between student housing and vacation rentals; vibrant and joyous home life with our now-adult kids, grand kids and community; travel to a variety of locations including urban, rural and remote areas; and community organizing for issues as vast as communities in emergency situations and supporting wilderness locations. We enjoy good food and wine, gentle conversation, meeting people from all walks of life, museums and farmers markets, music festivals, cities, towns, farmlands and wilderness; hiking and kayaking. We are not terribly "tech savvy" but we figure out how to get things done (never underestimate the value of duct tape ;-) and enjoy a seat on the porch more than a giant television. We are anxious to learn what makes your home and community a place that you value and enjoy.

Why they want to house sit

We have always loved travel, both near and far, especially if we can find locations to feed our curiosity about communities and everyday life. We have enjoyed staying in homes around the world with organizations like home shares and feel that caring for other folks homes, plants and pets will share our flexible personalities and be a real positive way to experience the world.

We have cared for others home in different location and are members of organizations that home share/trade, so our experience includes the importance of respecting other peoples homes and properties. We feel that our long-term experience in the real estate and vacation rental business and life gives us a real-life understanding of taking care of people and properties.
