Three cheerful slow-paced pet-loving globetrotters

We are Bart (multidisciplinary engineer, 52), Mary (personal assistant, 45) and Oscar (explorer, 8), and we all feel as if we were (almost) 12! We are a cheerful family of three (pretty-) slow-paced globetrotters. We work, learn and homeschool while traveling and discovering cultures and lifestyles.

Archie (it is Oscar's middle name, we use them both interchangeably) is the happiest and the merriest of us, although he is also very quiet. He does not lack skill and imagination, and handles everything with care and respect.

As far as we, Mary and Bart, are concerned, we endorsed various roles (engineer, project leader, event coordinator, head chef) in various business sectors (information technology, banking, education, hospitality industry) before we finally decided to take our life off the beaten track. Now, we work on our own business project, which is still at an early stage.

Our hobbies include cycling, visiting museums, personal development, mostly anything related to nature, science, archaeology and natural history, and also handling all sorts of unexpected situations that would usually not happen to anyone else, a discipline in which we have gained quite some experience by now. At home, we like to listen to some relaxing music, mostly some jazz, but ranging actually from artistic songs through folklore to classic. We use to ignore the television set where there is one, but we do watch some personally selected content on the computer. We are quiet people, very cautious, non-smokers and non-drinkers.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting is for us a way to do something useful and rewarding on a daily basis while we pursue our passion for exploring the world. We love the company of pets and manage to make some new furry friends wherever we are. Whether with our hosts or their pets, every experience is always enriching.

Their experience

During the last years, we enjoyed looking after cats of different breeds with different personalities. We are familiar with visits to the vet. We can provide medical care to animals ourselves, including administering medicine, making injections and providing special assistance.

Mary has been familiar with all sorts of animals since her childhood, as she grew up at a farm. As a teenager, Bart developed a close affinity with his cats and became pretty good at understanting and interpreting their behaviour. Archie quickly developed the same skills. He likes to take the responsibility for preparing the pets' food and filling up their water bowl. He loves playing with the playful ones and manages to make friends even with the shyest ones.

What can they bring to the assignment

We have a very special affinity with cats. We even know a few words of "Cat language", which allows us to make great connections with them! ;) We are sure yours will also adopt us in no time and neither they nor we will miss any cuddles!

Our duties and responsibilities come first, and we are rather resourceful, so we do not bother our hosts while they are away unless it is really necessary. Besides, Bart is a good handyman, while Mary has a green hand. With us, your furry friends and your home will be in the best possible hands.
