Hi - I’m Kim. I’m an incredibly caring and meticulous human being. I’m the type of person who says hello to strangers, I start my day early, and I see magic and miracles in the world around me. What I’m looking for in a house to sit is a space that is welcoming, comfortable, and lived in. I love trying new things and being in new places and connecting with those around me. If I have the choice … I choose to be near water, I choose small towns over big cities, and I choose peaceful over chaotic.

Why they want to house sit

I want to explore new communities, see new places, meet new people, and experience new towns from the perspective of someone living there, not simply visiting. I firmly believe in the barter system, and I find an enormous amount of appeal in the idea of trading my time minding your home for housing.

Their experience

Yes! My longest house sitting experience was 18 months for a couple who had the opportunity to sail around the world. I watched their home, their yard, and their two geriatric dogs while adventures took the home owners to far away places. I also have volunteer experience as an apprentice lighthouse keeper on an island in Maine, staying in the keepers quarters and tending to the buildings and property and greeting visitors as needed.

I am new to “Mind My House” and the world of finding housesitting opportunities through the internet. With that in mind, I have no “testimonials” for you to read and I recognize that you are taking a chance on me by being my first assignment. I will bring so much to the assignment! I will bring my charming personality, my can-do attitude, and I will mind your home as if it’s my own. Having farmed for 12+ years, I have plenty of experience tending vegetable gardens. I am well-versed in house plants. And I’ve lived with cats for many decades of my life. I will bring my attention to detail and my ability to follow-through with directions. I will bring love and joy to share with your plants and/or your animals, your neighbors, and your community. I’ll simply bring myself.
