About this sitter

I am a person who is older and has fewer years ahead than years already lived. I am doctorally educated, have always worked professionally in healthcare, have always been involved in competitive sports (primarily tennis), and love travel and the people I get to meet traveling. I currently am an author and can work from anywhere.

I’m looking for house sits that allow me to provide high-quality care for pets and property while maintaining a quiet, stable environment for my professional work. I’m open to all locations globally and prefer assignments where I can apply my healthcare and animal care expertise. I value clear expectations, mutual respect, and homes that offer reliable internet and basic amenities. I am fully self-sufficient and comfortable navigating by foot or public transit when appropriate. In remote areas or locations where pet transport or errands require a vehicle, I’m open to arrangements that include use of the homeowner’s car, provided insurance and expectations are clearly outlined. If a vehicle is not available and the location necessitates one, I will obtain a suitable vehicle to ensure all responsibilities are met without disruption.

Housesitting gives me the opportunity to not only travel and meet people, but to help others, and be around and interact with animals.

Their experience

I have been around pets all my life and when I was in undergrad, I fell into a group of friends who were all pre-vet (I was pre-med) where many of us became roommates at one point or another. One roommate had snakes, a pair of toucans, other exotic birds, two dogs and two cats, and I often would care for them. This person went on the be the veterinarian for Disney World's Animal Kingdom in Orlando. I've mostly had dogs in my personal life and can remember going into the doghouse I built for my longest childhood dog, King, to just be with him and pet him. This is likely why I've learned to become so intuitive with all animals and not just dogs, because I spent so much time with them over my life.

What can they bring to the assignment

Animal Expertise
I have a natural ability to connect with animals and have successfully trained both my own and others’ pets using proven behavioral techniques of positive behavioral reinforcement and that includes lots of exercise, love, and attention. While I don’t hold formal dog-training certifications, my results speak for themselves. I have been around pets my entire life, and being with them has become so comfortable for me and them. The pets in my life, some of them in the photos attached, have been Chippers, King, Jason, Jake, Zeb, Zee, and Ice. I am a dad to a now grown son. Many owners have trusted me to help shape their pets’ behavior through intuitive, low-stress techniques. I’m also skilled in administering medications and handling medical emergencies as I have always had a professional career in healthcare, albeit human healthcare.

Household Reliability
As a homeowner with hands-on renovation experience, I’m capable of performing essential household tasks and minor repairs (tools must be on-site). I maintain cleanliness, security, and routine with precision and respect. I will always be available to communicate with you on the schedule and using the modality that works best for you.

Professional Background
I’ve worked in healthcare since graduating from undergrad and I’m a PhD clinical psychologist and my work now is authoring books in my area of specialization. My work is portable and quiet, making me an ideal sitter/caretaker for your home and pets whether you are located in a city or in the most remote location.

I am available for short- or long-term assignments in any location. My goal is to provide peace of mind while you’re away, ensuring your home and pets/animals are cared for with diligence and skill.
