Experienced Dog and Cat Sitter throughout Winter

About this sitter

I am a language teacher who primarily works from my laptop and so am lucky enough to have the freedom to travel and work at the same time. I have been house sitting periodically for over 10 years, and enjoy the chance to see and experience places and people I would otherwise only view from afar. Given the nature of my work I am primarily looking for house sits with an internet connection, but other than that I am open to the unique eccentricities each home has to offer.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting is a fantastic opportunity to engage in daily life of a region far more authentically than a weekend away in a hotel or a whistlestop guided tour. I have realised through my work how much I enjoy not only learning about other cultures and ways of life, but immersing myself first-hand. It is also an opportunity for me to put the language skills I am learning into real-world situations and test myself.

Their experience

I have grown up with dogs, cats and fish since I was 10 years old, and have been house and pet-sitting for family and friends since I was 16. Although a slightly different field, I also have experience in childcare, which has provided me with further caring skills I can bring to my pet sitting roles.

What can they bring to the assignment

I understand being trusted with something as important as a person's home and pets is not something to be taken lightly. I bring a professionalism to my housesitting, treating the animals like they were my own and the house how I would want someone to treat mine.
