About this sitter

I am born and raised in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. At the age of 29 I moved to Holland and changed profession from Office management to Hospitality management. In 2000 I started travelling/working in most of Europe, the Middle East and Caribbean. While travelling I blogged to share my experiences through short stories and photographs. Then I dreamt about a book and a year later I decided to follow my dream/hart and became a writer on travel. After publishing my book and mostly for marketing reasons I got back to Germany thinking I´ll leave after a few months. Then Corona came and I kind of stranded in Germany. From then until now I worked as communication coach. Then slowly my hart started telling me to get back to my favorite way of life as a housesitter/traveller. So I got myself a remote job and here I am again.

Why they want to house sit

I like to create win-win situations and that works for me since I first started housesitting in 2017.
As a pet lover and former dog-/cat and small animal owner I am used to have company when staying on a place. Due to my profession I am able to travel quiet a bit latley and therefor unfortuantely be unable to have a pet on my own!
So first I took care of the houses and pets from friends in the Netherlands and extended to Germany. Doing this on a private base only, one day my friend mentioned that there are agencies where people can register. And here I am, travelling around the globe helping out pet and house owners, while they are away. It's just a great way to travel and learn about new countries and it's people. Housesitting though has become my way of life and in order to provide my livelihood I have a remote job working 4 days a week. I do like longterm housesits and/or repetitive ones because usually it is better for the pets and of course house owners know what they have as well.

Monika was our house-sitter twice in 2017 (10 days + a weekend). She took very good care of our pets (1 cat, 1 dog and 4 chickens). She had fun walking our dog and followed up all the instructions for the chickens very nicely. Monika kept the house clean and well organized. It felt good to come back to a nice and tidy home after a holiday. Monika is a nice woman who takes care of the house with great respect. We surely ask her again for the next time we go on a vacation.

Monika was just absolutely wonderful! She was very prompt with communication when we were setting up the house sit. She asked all the right questions and made sure she had the information she needed to do a great job. During the house sit she responded quickly to messages and sent us photos of our dog. When we got home the house was immaculate and welcoming. Our dog was happy and had lost some weight from the excellent walking routine she got him into. We would very happily ask Monika to house sit again at and would have no hesitation recommending her to other people who need a responsible, friendly and reliable house sitter.

Monika looked after our house in Mana, New Zealand, for 8 months while we were overseas. She did a wonderful job of communicating with us regarding mail, repairs and so forth. I came to know Monika whilst she was house sitting for a friend in Australia. Monika takes the business of house sitting very seriously. I was impressed by the level of responsibility she took in looking after my friend’s home. As I came to know Monika I also realised that she has a deep compassion for animals. I am very particular about who takes care of my elderly dog but I had no reservations whatsoever about leaving Flash in Monika’s care. She is a true animal lover. She also left my house in immaculate condition (I believe it was cleaner than when she arrived!) Monika is not just someone who comes and stays in your house when you are away. She is someone who will look after your home and look after your pets with as much love and attention as you would give them yourself. Highly recommended.

Monika can do it all! She took perfectly care of our house and our beloved animals. She stayed in touch and followed our instructions. On top of that Monica comes with character. She invites you into her life and is very open. It was a real pleasure and we really enjoyed her company. Monika definetely is another proof that mindmyhouse sitters are simple wonderful people. Monika was an excellent house sitter. Looked after the dog and cat so well. My dog looked really trim when I returned having been spoilt by been taken to the beach every few days - she loved that!The house and garden were all in great shape and I appreciated how water conscious she was.
