About this sitter

Hi! I’m 52 and transitioning careers from corporate to consulting and freelance writing, making my way from Texas to California. I’m a certified yoga teacher, lifelong reader and writer, lover of animals and plants, and find folding laundry soothing. I love DIY, design, and (much to Mom’s surprise) cleaning and organizing. I’m looking for places along my route to and in CA to work, rest, and enjoy discovering new places. I love the beach, the mountains, cities and rural areas. I like to swim, boat, walk and hike; visit museums, parks, and places of interest. I always carry a camera and a notebook. I love to try new restaurants and recipes, as well as tending and harvesting a home garden. I’m easygoing, introverted, and spend most of my time writing, playing with my Corgi (Georgie), and making things from light fixtures to crafts to furniture and upcycling anything that strikes my fancy—lately it’s been throw pillows.

Why they want to house sit

I’d like to see more of the country between TX and CA but prefer a quiet space to a busy hotel. I’m not in a hurry and work remotely, so I thought housesitting would be a great opportunity to save money, help others, and take some time to catch my breath.

Their experience

Yes. I have done it for years for family and friends but this is my first time using a service like this. I’ve taken care of two coops of chickens in Atlanta; wrangled three dogs, a cat, a teenager, and a large vegetable garden in Virginia; and many times watched my parents’ houses and pets in NC, FL, and TX.

I’m happy to help with anything I can. Most of my interests double as services from cleaning to organizing, gardening to pet sitting, design, DIY, photography and folding clothes—just ask!
