Reliable, caring & mature house sitter with short term and long term availability

About this sitter

Hi. I am 60 years old and am now retired & think its a good opportunity to travel and help others at the same time. I am flexible and adaptable & dont expect 5* accomodation but would appreciate ideally having Wifi and fairly easy access to public transport but I do drive and would consider car hire. I am very aware of the environmental and financial impact of over use of resources and so would be very conscientious when in your home with use of electricity, gas, water etc.

Why they want to house sit

I find the idea of staying in a home rather than an anonymous hotel very appealing. I have always been involved in my local community and like the idea of giving back and finding out about local traditions and culture. I also like the idea of an agreement where money is not necessarily involved but that people negotiate based on skills, experience and compatibility.

Their experience

I have not done formal house sitting previously but have stayed in friends and neighbours homes to care for their property and pets. For many years I was involved in a house swop scheme for families which worked really well, especially for my 3 children who got to stay in different environments& locations. In recent years I have also been a host for international language students visiting the UK.

What can they bring to the assignment

My background is in health, social care and education. I have held a number of very responsible management positions, supporting vulnerable people of a variety of ages. I am a committed "citizen". I want to support and empower people and am sensitive to people & their surroundings. I am an excellent communicator and would be able to deal with a "crisis" in a clam but effective manner.
I volunteer at local community garden and wildlife projects and so would be happy to look after plants etc.
