Adjusting to being “empty nesters”

Meet Helen and Kristi, we love travel, pets, exploring and taking time for the little (or big) things in life. We live in New Zealand, though love to explore.

Why they want to house sit

Being recent empty nesters, we are looking for sitting assignments where you really get to meet and bond with locals, people, pets & nature.

In 2017 we spent a year in Barcelona with our children aged 10&12 at the time. We immersed ourselves into the culture and community. We then returned to NZ for our girls to finish high school.

Our eldest lived in Merida Mexico for a year at 16, where we visited to explore and meet with her new life.

We want to have more experiences living overseas- making connections and filling our souls with all the things that come from travel, exploring and new experiences.

Their experience

We have always had our own pets: dog, chickens, cat, Guinea pigs, rabbit. Though caring in other peoples homes is new to us. We have now reached an age in life where our children have left home, which enables us to travel and sit in other locations.

We often care for friends pets in our own community.

What can they bring to the assignment

We bring an open mind, ability to communicate clearly, follow instructions. Positive attitude.

We enjoy meeting new people, neighbours, friends, pets. We are very caring individuals.
