About this sitter

I am a calm, reliable, and self-sufficient person who enjoys a slow pace of life. I am comfortable spending long periods at home and rarely go out for more than a few hours at a time, which suits pets that are accustomed to having company during the day. I am happy in a wide range of settings, from city apartments to rural, remote, or off-grid homes, and I am always open to considering sits in homes that are small, quirky, or unconventional. Currently I am only accepting sits in Spain, where I am a resident, and only in non-smoking households. I am keen to explore other parts of Spain and would prefer short sits of only a few days. Sorry but I no longer care for dogs.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting appeals to me because it combines many things I value: caring for animals, gardening, and experiencing new places in a meaningful way. I am not interested in whirlwind tourism; I prefer to immerse myself in local communities and live as people do day to day. House sitting allows me to exchange my time, care, and experience for the privilege of staying in someone’s home, while enjoying the companionship of pets and the satisfaction of looking after a home and garden.

Their experience

I began house sitting in October 2018 and have completed numerous sits throughout Europe, both through official house sitting platforms and by word of mouth. I have cared for dogs, cats, bunnies, quail, a chicken and rooster, and indoor and outdoor fish. I am particularly comfortable with timid or nervous animals, who often settle very quickly in my care.

What can they bring to the assignment

I offer home, garden, and pet care, not just basic pet sitting. As a landlord and homeowner myself, I understand the importance of treating a property with respect and care, and I always aim to return a home in the same condition in which it was received. I have extensive gardening experience, including vegetable gardens, succulent gardens, patio and balcony gardens, and indoor plants, and I enjoy spending time outdoors weeding, watering, and maintaining gardens. I am environmentally conscious, using biodegradable or organic products where possible and being economical with heating. My presence in the home also enhances security and ensures the ongoing well-being of pets while owners are away.
