About this sitter
I am a calm, reliable, and self-sufficient person who enjoys a slow pace of life. I am comfortable spending long periods at home and rarely go out for more than a few hours at a time, which suits pets that are accustomed to having company during the day. I am happy in a wide range of settings, from city apartments to rural, remote, or off-grid homes, and I am always open to considering sits that are small, quirky, or unconventional. I travel within the EU and the UK and am comfortable using public transport to reach my destinations. I only accept sits in non-smoking households.
Why they want to house sit
House sitting appeals to me because it combines many things I value: caring for animals, gardening, and experiencing new places in a meaningful way. I am not interested in whirlwind tourism; I prefer to immerse myself in local communities and live as people do day to day. House sitting allows me to exchange my time, care, and experience for the privilege of staying in someone’s home, while enjoying the companionship of pets and the satisfaction of looking after a home and garden.

I began house sitting in October 2018 and have completed numerous sits throughout Europe, both through official house sitting platforms and by word of mouth. I have cared for dogs, cats, bunnies, quail, a chicken and rooster, and indoor and outdoor fish. I am particularly comfortable with timid or nervous animals, who often settle very quickly in my care. I have experience in a wide variety of homes, including apartments, cottages, townhouses, rural properties, and remote locations.
What can they bring to the assignment
I offer home, garden, and pet care, not just basic pet sitting. As a landlord and homeowner myself, I understand the importance of treating a property with respect and care, and I always aim to return a home in the same condition in which it was received. I have extensive gardening experience, including vegetable gardens, succulent gardens, patio and balcony gardens, and indoor plants, and I enjoy spending time outdoors weeding, watering, and maintaining gardens. I am environmentally conscious, using biodegradable or organic products where possible and being economical with heating. My presence in the home also enhances security and ensures the ongoing well-being of pets while owners are away.
I undertake sits only within the EU and the UK, and I hold both UK and Irish passports, giving me full freedom of movement without visa concerns.

Jill was an excellent house and pet sitter. We texted back and forth beforehand and sorted any questions and arrangements. Jill had to deal with a nasty cockerel that guards his hen, two cats and tropical fish. They are all happy and healthy on our return. The house is spotless and all is well. She sent just the right amount of reassurance and a couple of photos during our holiday so that we knew they were doing fine. We would recommend Jill as a trusted sitter.

This was my first experience and I was fortunate to have Jill sit for Blue (a mature & aloof cat) and stay in my home. A friendly pre-sit Zoom chat answered any last minute questions of house/cat details we both had and Jill made things so very easy. An experienced home & pet-sitter, Jill’s communication was straightforward, about the right amount (with a compilation vid of images of Blue towards the end of the stay - thanks!), and Jill left my home spotless and my cat happy. Jill was a fantastic house sitter
Jill was a fantastic house sitter and took such amazing care of our very anxious cat, Pippa. Jill was highly organised and communicated with us in the lead up to the sit. When we met Jill in person we continued to be put at ease by her calm and friendly demeanor, plus the fact she'd practically memorised our welcome guide and asked all the right questions! Throughout the sit we were sent lovely daily updates of Pippa and could tell immediately that she was very comfortable in Jill's company. She normally hides herself away for days but she was out and about straight away and even went outside! Jill definitely has some kind of cat magic powers as Pippa was soon to let her stoke her and was even requesting belly rubs! Thanks to Jill we were able to have a lovely relaxing holiday without worrying about anything at home at all. We came home to a super clean spotless house, a very happy and settled cat, and Jill very kindly got us some essentials in too. We can't thank Jill enough for how brilliant she was. We would be completely delighted to have her sit again for us in future (and we know Pippa would too!)

We had Jill taking care of our cat, two rabbits, quail and fish for 3 weeks. When we returned, the home was like we had never left. All our pets were loved and cared for just as if they were Jill’s own. Throughout our holiday, Jill sent us daily updates and clips of how everyone was getting on - we truly appreciated how much effort she put in to reassure us that our home and loved companions were left in safe hands. We highly recommend Jill for all sits, especially people not familiar with using a sitter. Jill was a fabulous sitter for us to have for our very first experience house sit and we are so happy with how she took care of our pets. Our home was spotless and beautifully cleaned - a true comfort to arrive back to after a long holiday. We look forward to having Jill again.

Jill was only with us for a short sit, however we enjoyed some time with her both with and without the cats. She's a very easy person to get on with and slotted seamleslly into the household. Jill is a reliable and competent house sitter. This was the first time we had anyone look after our dog and we were naturally apprehensive. After talking to Jill before the sit we were confident she would be perfect. She took time to understand our needs and made sure she had all the information that she needed about Monty. Short & Precise: Jill is the best sitter you can get to your pets, home and plants :) More detailed: This was our first time getting a sitter to care about Agathe and Lomo our rescued free roaming bunnies. We got so many applications! But reading Jills one and looking at her reviews (Make sure to look at the photos and read the reviews) it was pretty obvious she was the best candidate. She agreed to come the night before we left for holidays and we got the chance to meet her personally. She is trustable and real fun :) The first moment when she entered the room Agathe and Lomo (our free roaming rescued bunnies) came to greet her by touching her anckles and hand with their noses 🐰🐰 And thats a sucess because they are absolutelly shy with strangers. She listen very carefully again to our instructions and made extra questions. Each day she sent uns photos and some details about how the things were at home and that was exactly what we needed to relax. Thanks Jill! The home was in a great state when the next sitters took over (friends of us). It was not need to ask the second sitters about because also that day she did send us a warm message as farewell with some picks and descriptions of how the home was looking like afterwards. Agathe and Lomo loved her (and as i said we were positivelly surprised of this because as rescued animals they are very affraid of humans and overmore strangers) we could see that because even already the first day she send us pics of Lomo in a pose of absolute hapiness and relaxation. What it is the bonus point? Well i had a Topinambur plant (Jerusalem Artichoke) that did really really bad after two tempest we suffered before she arrived, and with her care and attention it really came back to life. We recommend Jill for every sit. If you get the chance to have Jill do not doubt about. She is fun, self reliable, a great soulmate for your pets and the perfect sitter for your plants and home.

Jill has been fantastic as a sitter. Very relaxed and self sufficient and looked after Betsy with every care and attention. Betsy loved her and was obviously very happy in her company. It was such a joy to go on holiday knowing that Betsy was in such safe and experienced hands. Jill was an absolutely fantastic pet and house sitter. Jill stepped in at such short notice after the one who should have come couldn't make it. I had such relief of mind and could enjoy my visit, secure in the knowledge that everything was well cared for. Jill was so thoughtful for leaving me provisions so I didn't have to go out shopping but could relax as soon as I got back. Thank you for everything and for cleaning the windows and doing the ironing. My pets were fit and healthy. I highly recommend Jill to look after your pets and home. You're a star!

Jill was a delight to have in our home! She demonstrated capability and efficiency! We felt totally confident that she would look after our pets and our home as if they were her own and that proved to be correct. Both my husband and I felt an immediate connection with Jill, she slotted into our routine and took over our pet’s care so well they didn’t miss us at all, it seems! An additional bonus was that Jill loved our village, which is out of the way with no public transport! She embraced village life and especially buying from the various vendors that come into the village to bring fresh bread and veggies and getting water from the fountain etc. She would be an ideal pet sitter for those out of the way places that offer tranquility and a slower pace of life. When we arrived home after our month away the house was spotless,and there was a roasted pepper soup bubbling away for our lunch - perfect! Jill is very independent in her travel arrangements and loves the challenge of visiting new and remote destinations. Five star all the way!
