Huge pet-lover, with special mention for cats and smaller dogs

About this sitter

I've always been a pet-lover, as far as I can remember. Always rescuing animals found on my path, from pigeon to hedgehog. I adopted various animals over the years, rabbits, cats, dogs and even ducks. I've always had a sweet spot for cats though. My last cat, Willi, was deaf and blind from very small. He needed lots of cuddles and we shared 13 years together. Today, my lifestyle is more nomadic, so I don't have any pets of my own anymore. I usually spend winters in Central America, where I try as much as possible to help stray dogs while being there. And I work a seasonal job in the tourism industry in the summer, mainly in Spain. In the meantime, I also visit my family in Belgium, getting to cuddle my nephews and our little bichon, Tina. I speak French, English and Spanish. I'm 48 years, very reliable and organized.

Why they want to house sit

I've been thinking about it for many years but having always quite a busy schedule with my nomadic lifestyle, I never really had a chance to experience it. I have some free time starting January and I wanted to give it a try for a couple of weeks (or more). Having myself owned different pets, and especially a blind/deaf cat which had very specific needs, I know what it is like to go away on vacation and feel almost 'guilty' for leaving behind such an important member of the family. I want to owner to feel totally reassured that his/her cat/dog will be very well taken care of. They will receive all the love and attention they need. I love all animals but am just a little bit more wary of reactive dogs, having been bit in the past. It has to be all zen-)!

Their experience

Not an experienced pet-sitter, but I had the chance to share my life with many cats and dogs. Stray dogs in Belize / Willy, my special deaf and blind cat / Tina, the current family bichon / and any other animals crossing my path during my many travels around the world.

What can they bring to the assignment

Lots of love and caring. I'm super organized, so I will follow exactly any dietary requirement and/or routine. Daily feedbacks on your pet. I'm also very clean, so you'll find your place spotless. I have a sweet spot for cats, especially the ones with special needs.
