About this sitter

Having been proud homeowners in the UK for 30 years, Ian and I decided to leave our UK-based corporate lives in 2015 to explore the world, laden with just a couple of backpacks.

After an initial 18 months of continuous travelling, we tried house sitting as a means to slow things down and enjoy the simplicity of staying in one place for an extended period. So we spent a month in southwest France in a centuries-old stone house, surrounded by fruit orchards, caring for a gorgeous cat named Marjie.

For us, it provided a perfect balance between travelling to somewhere new while experiencing life as a local. And, once again, sharing our lives with a pet. As such, the experience has changed our outlook on travel. House sitting has become a lifestyle, in which we've been fortunate enough to care for hundreds of dogs, cats and a variety of other pets and farm animals. And, in doing so, have established lasting friendships with homeowners across the world.

Well over 100 house sits later, we continue to look for assignments where mutual trust and respect are a given. And, where pets are involved, we can offer our undivided attention and love.

Over the years, we've learned to adapt to challenges like flooding in northern France, direct lightning strikes in Panama, and a Category 5 hurricane in the British Virgin Islands! Experiences we believe have helped shape our resilience and calmness when dealing with any issues that might arise.
