Dogs and Horses! no indoor cats due to allergies

I, Merlynne, am a grandma, semi-retired, conscientious and ethical. I have been an airbnb host in the past and still use it to stay. Look me up for reviews as I am new to Mindmyhouse.com. My husband Tom and I like to travel. We find gardening to be relaxing. We enjoy dogs and horses especially. I am allergic to scent and cats. Laundry detergent and fabric softener are major culprits, you will have to use scent-free and omit the softener. Outdoor cats are okay. Only outdoor cats!

Why they want to house sit

I would like to vacation in places on earth where I can live, eat, and hike like a local. Tom and I are fairly spontaneous and sometimes find it hard to find a place to stay. We like our privacy. :) I would rather care for someone's home, garden, and pets than to stay in a crowded hotel. Hotels do have the advantage of being scent-free as they wash in unscented detergent and bleach.
I have visited Mexico, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Honduras, Canada, and most of the states in the United State. Colorado, Maryland, South Carolina, and Wyoming are family favorites that we return to again and again.
I would love to visit Turkey!

Their experience

We have always had dogs. We mow a walking trail in the field for my sister to bring her indoor Rottweiler for walks. I care for my daughter's horses - including foot soaks. Our children bring their pets to us when they are out of town (except for the chickens and pigs! We much prefer to care for them in their home environment.)
We maintain a large canning/freezing garden, also asparagus, strawberries, and fruit trees. I enjoy mowing and light weeding.
Until recently, we cared for Tom's brother John, Down's Syndrome. He lived with us for 7 years and loved dogs too!
Tom and I have recently renewed our passports and are ready to head out!

What can they bring to the assignment

Tom and I love to hike and explore. We pack up the dogs and take them with us on local hikes. His thumb is even greener than mine! We both enjoy gardening and preserve lots of vegetables, fruits, and meats each year.
