About this sitter

Hi I am Susan from Pennsylvania, a 5 star, international pet sitter experienced with cats, dogs and poultry! I’ve been called a cat whisperer because cats are drawn to my calm and gentle demeanor. Small dogs are within my comfort zone too. I'm not able to walk large dogs that pull. (I'm 67 years old and petite so some dogs are stronger than I am).

Born and raised in western Pennsylvania on my grandparents 50 acre farm, I was surrounded by animals, vegetable and flower gardens, fruit orchards and houseplants. I learned how to care for the animals, plant and harvest and be creative. As an adult, My second career is a custom home decor seamstress and home decorator.

I have 2 sons, one who lives near me and the other living in Munich, Germany. In 2026 I spent 2 months traveling through Spain, Germany and Austria with my son doing house/pet sitting. That was through Trusted House Sitters and we earned all 5 star reviews. I wish I could import them here, but that's not possible. I can provide many good references for sure including from local pet owners who have entrusted their beloved pets with me for years and I have a cat named Desi!

Why they want to house sit

When I am traveling, I prefer to stay in a home and love to help someone out by caring for their pets. I love exploring the world and this is a way to slowly travel and feel like a local!

I have 5 years experience caring for neighbors cats and dogs and done 8 sits on Trusted House Sitters. I’ve rescued cats all my life and have experience with kittens and senior cats. Administered meds too.
