About this sitter

Young-at-heart, female (Nan 67), recently retired, wants to see and experience some of the world while I still can! I enjoy lending a hand and helping those in need, as well as having a purpose wherever I am. I love to walk/hike and bicycle; am neat, clean, and organized and enjoy keeping house. In general, I'm a simple, quiet, no-nonsense person (non smoker, drug-free, independent)...I enjoy home life but seek the peace and beauty of the natural world around me. I will not have my own tranportation. I love ALL of domestic and wild animals and feel my life is enriched just to be with them - I welcome the opportunity to meet you and care for your home and best friends like they were my own.

Why they want to house sit

When travelling, I prefer to live like a local, stay in one place so I can explore, meet people, and get to know the area/culture. As a retiree, my income is limited so I would be honored to care for your home/pets while you're away. I always welcome new experiences but am a homebody at heart and love simple pleasures - a cup of Chai, birdsong, sunrises, animal behaviour, a good book, sunny days, a long walk, daily routines, etc

Their experience

I've done house/pet sitting for friends but it was ~twenty years ago (cats, dogs, horses, chickens, cows), I worked on a dairy farm as a young woman, as a veterinary assistant, and as a shelter attendant for unwanted pets (humane society). I shared my life with three beautiful cats (see photo) for thirteen years and was rewarded with their love every day. I love the idea of making new fur friends and being the recipient of their unconditional love.

What can they bring to the assignment

I bring reliabilty, dependability, hard-working helping hands, an amiable open heart, and a willingness to learn new things and meet new people. I bring a deep affection for animals/birds/nature, my interest in bonding with each, and a commitment to caring for them as they deserve.
