About this sitter

Hi, we are Dominique and Danny. We are calm, caring and reliable 31-year-and 28 year old from Germany, currently spending time in Portugal in a Van. We always loved animals and feel especially connected to cats. :)
After travelling and living in a van for a while, we enjoy now staying in one place and taking care of a home and cats/dogs while their owners are away.

We are looking for a quiet and respectful home where we can care for animals, follow daily routines and treat the house with care. We value a calm atmosphere and enjoy taking responsibility for both the home and the animals.

Why they want to house sit

We enjoy house sitting because it allows us to slow down and stay in one place for a while. After living in a van, we appreciate having a calm and stable base where we can focus on my daily routine and responsibilities.

House sitting also gives us the quiet time we need to concentrate on our work, while still being present and attentive at home. I‘m a freelance photographer and Danny is a freelancer and digital nomad. This balance works very well for us and means we spend a lot of time around the house, which is ideal for caring for animals and keeping everything in good order.

Their experience

Yes, very much. We grew up with cats and dogs and I had two cats of my own for many years, so caring for animals feels very natural to us. Over time, we’ve learned to understand their different personalities and needs, from playful and affectionate cats or dogs, to more independent or sensitive ones.

I’m comfortable with everyday routines such as feeding, cleaning the litter box, spending calm time together and respecting each cat’s boundaries. I pay attention to small changes in behaviour and always try to create a calm, safe and familiar environment where cats feel relaxed and cared for. ?

What can they bring to the assignment

We bring a calm, caring and responsible presence to every house sit. We treat each home with respect and care, as if it were our own and take the responsibility of looking after someone’s home and animals very seriously.

We naturally spend a lot of time at home or in the nature, enjoy quiet routines and create a peaceful atmosphere, which many cats or animals feel comfortable with. We pay attention to details, keep things clean and organised, and make sure your loved ones feels safe, relaxed and well cared for.

As a photographer, I am also happy to share gentle updates and a few lovely photos of your cat(s) while you are away, so you can feel connected and reassured.

Most importantly, we bring genuine care, kindness and reliability, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your home and your cat are in warm and trustworthy hands. :)
