About this sitter

Hello, I'm Sophia. I'm a cheerful, responsible person and a huge animal lover! Originally from San Antonio, TX, lived a few years in lived in San Francisco and San Diego, and have called New York City home for the past 15 years. After a long stint in corporate America as a technical project manager, I made the leap into the music industry in 2006. Today, I am the General Manager at New Amsterdam Records, a nonprofit arts organization, and also work independently with artists on album releases and tour strategy, as well as, supporting other independent record labels. I’m organized, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to supporting creative work with care and professionalism. My work is fully remote, which allows me to travel for extended periods while staying reliable and responsive.

Outside of work, I spend time volunteering with Gallop NYC, where I help care for horses — a grounding and meaningful part of my routine. Whether I’m in New York City or exploring somewhere new, I enjoy long walks, live music, and quiet moments in cafés observing the world around me.

I’m a considerate and responsible guest. I live a healthy lifestyle. and take pride in maintaining a calm, clean, and organized living environment. I enjoy exercising frequently - hiking, running, rowing, weightlifting, pilates, and yoga. I don’t smoke and rarely drink. I treat every space I visit with care and respect. I am well-traveled (have managed 14-piece big bands traveling the world on tour), resourceful and a quick thinking problem solver.

Sophia was wonderful with my 16.5-yr-old Shichon Rocky. He has health issues and was very barky and agitated during his stay with her, but she was kind, accommodating and patient every step of the way. She sent me pictures and videos daily, along w updates on how he was doing. She also diligently gave him meds his everyday. Would highly recommend her, and would happily leave Rocky w her again.

Sophia was excellent! She was extremely flexible and communicative— even changing her schedule around to accommodate watching Arnie— and was very understanding of our late-night pick up/work hours. Sophia was an excellent sitter! Very accommodating, responsive - sent us photos of Loki playing / walking / sleeping every day (we are a bit needy)! Loki spent a week with Sophia and had a great time, and was healthy and happy when we picked him up. I would definitely recommend Sophia to a friend
