Thank you for visiting our profile.
We are Sandra and Sören.
We are a professional German couple in our mid 30s, house-sitting around the world for over 10 years.
As dedicated house sitters, we take care of every home as if it were our own, providing homeowners with complete peace of mind while they are travelling.
Sandra works as a writer and Sören as a programmer, both of us fully remotely.
Our two female dogs, Tia and Sandy, always accompany us on our house sits.
They are both 10 years old, medium sized, neutered, fully vaccinated, regularly dewormed, and reliably house and field trained. They are absolutely friendly with other animals, though reserved around unfamiliar people.
Both we and our dogs are covered by international liability insurance, including coverage for rented properties. Of course, we also hold clean police clearance certificates. All documentation can be provided upon request.

House sitting allows us to connect our much needed daily routine with our love of exploring new places and of course, of being with animals, who enrich our lives every day.
Of course you would like to know, if your animal family make a match with us. We are happy to answer the most common questions for you:
Are you experienced with animals?
************************************
We both grew up surrounded by cats, dogs, and small animals. Through house sits around the world, we’ve gained extensive experience living with a variety of furry companions. Not to mention our own dogs, Tia and Sandy. Their happiness and well-mannered behavior are probably our best reference.
We are also passionate about horses. Sandra started riding at the age of seven and has been a horse girl ever since. We always prioritizes appropriate horse husbandry and the horse’s well-being.
Are you experienced house sitters?
************************************
We began house sitting in 2015 and have cared for homes in countless countries across different continents. We’ve looked after cats, dogs, birds, horses, goats, pigs, fish, plants, large gardens, stables, pools, balconies and cars.
We always strive to meet the high expectations of those who trust us with their homes. We treat the animals and property with the same care and respect as if they were our own.
We make every effort to keep each accommodation spotless and always ensure the place is thoroughly cleaned after our stay, so you’ll find your property just as you left it.
What about your own dogs, Tia and Sandy?
********************************************
As digital nomads, we are traveling through Europe with our two dogs, Tia and Sandy. Tia and Sandy always sit with us. They are experienced travelers, have done many house sits, and are respectful with all animals. They are perfectly safe around and used to other dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and wildlife.
Tia and Sandy like to say a friendly hello to other dogs and do ignore cats and other animals. As former rescue dogs, they are both cautious around unfamiliar people, especially men, and prefer not to be touched by strangers.
They communicate this by backing away, which we fully respect.
We only accept house sits where your pets feel comfortable around Tia and Sandy. The wellbeing of all animals involved is our top priority, so if you're unsure whether your pet might feel overwhelmed or even reactive, it's best to have an honest conversation with us beforehand.
What does your daily routine look like?
****************************************
Here’s a summary of our typical routine, which we are of course happy to adjust to your animals’ needs:
• We usually go to bed around 11?pm and wake up between 6 and 7?am.
• Our dogs are walked three times a day:
10–20 minutes in the morning
2–3 hours in the early afternoon
10–20 minutes before bed
In between, they enjoy free time in the garden.
• We all have breakfast after the morning walk and dinner after the afternoon hike. We mostly cook fresh meat and vegetables for our dogs but also use high-quality wet food when traveling.
• After breakfast, we work several hours on our laptops. Since we both work full-time from home, the animals are rarely left alone, never more than 4 hours, and that only once or twice a week, if at all.
• In our free time, we enjoy long hikes, horseback riding, swimming, markets, movies, and relaxing in the sun with a good book. We’re both passionate about music, and Sandra is also a dedicated photographer who shares both her photos and dog-care knowledge on her blogs.
Which languages do you speak?
**********************************
We speak German and English fluently and a little bit of French.
Do you have a driver's license or your own vehicle?
*******************************************
We both hold German driver’s licenses. Outside of Europe, we also carry an additional international driver’s license in English. We have never had an accident, ensuring the best insurance coverage. Within Europe, we travel with our own car.
Do you charge for house sitting?
**********************************
We view house sitting as a mutually beneficial arrangement and neither charge nor pay for it.
Can we meet up or have a call with you before our final decision?
*****************************************
If we're nearby, we’d be happy to meet in person. Otherwise, we look forward to a call with you.
How long before our departure will you arrive?
****************************************
Ideally, we arrive a few hours before your departure to go through everything. If you're already away on your trip, it's also possible to do the handover with your neighbor or the previous house sitter.
If our journey to you is particularly long, we prefer to arrive the night before and settle into a nearby Airbnb or hotel to ensure we are well-rested and on time the next morning.
How often will you send us updates?
**************************************
As photographers and filmmakers at heart, we love capturing beautiful pictures and videos of your furry family. During the first week of the sit, we typically provide daily updates. Over time, updates, photos, and videos will flow naturally, based on the individual preferences and communication needs of the house owner. For long-term house sits, we usually check in every 2-3 days, and of course, whenever you or we have questions or something to discuss.
