About this sitter
We are retired professionals who love to travel. Dave worked in local government and the arts. Belinda was in education, the last 10 years as a Principal for a 7-10 high school.
Housesitting affords us opportunities to visit interesting places off the tourist trail. We get to meet great people and their animals. Housesitting provides a ‘respite’ between adventures so we can feel at home.
Why they want to house sit
Dave and I love going to interesting places, meeting new people and more importantly, caring for their homes and loved pets. We think we do it well and our reviews confirm this. In 2026/27 we are travelling overseas for the year. We like to take breaks in our travel to feel ‘at home’. This is when housesitting works best for us. We are diligent in following instructions regarding your home and your loved ones.

We have been housesitting since 2019 - in Australia where we live, across Europe and extensively in the United Kingdom. We have cared for dogs, cats, chickens and other poultry, tortoises, sheep and fish. We have had housesits in cities, towns, on farms and in remote places. We usually hire a car to ensure flexibility and access to great walks and services. We are proud of our 5 star ratings on all our housesits since 2019.

We bring good humour, great compassion and a love of animals to each and every housesit. We know how to do housesits well so that your animals are happy, healthy and well loved. We will do the extras so that your home is in safe hands and on your return there is nothing to do. We are non smokers. We are fit and active and love hiking. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Absolutely recommend
We can absolutely recommend Belinda and Dave as House sitters. From the moment we met them online it was clear that they were communicative, competent and kind. On arrival they were genuinely interested in our pets’ welfare and took close note of the Welcome Guide - which is so reassuring when leaving to go on vacation. They really understood and cared for all our pets and provided regular updates and photos throughout their stay. We returned to a very clean and tidy home and relaxed, happy and healthy pets - we couldn’t ask for more than that! Wonderful
Belinda and Dave are a great pair of sitters. Calm and capable, they have been wonderful with Molly and Dusty, and seemed to really enjoy their time in the house. We felt utterly confident that they would handle anything and so were just pleased to get the updates of their outings while we were away. It's always a plus when you enjoy the company of your sitters and as this is their second sit for us we can say that we would love to have them back anytime- as sitters and friends!!

Reliable, flexible and punctual
Belinda & David were amazing. Reliable, flexible and punctual, nothing was a bother. Milo & Coco were walked each day which they love, Chai came and went as he normally does. I’d happily recommend them for any sit in the future or have them back if they were ever keen.

Organised and friendly
Belinda and Dave were organised and friendly. They kept us updated with photos of our cats, which always lovely to receive. They responded quickly to any contact, and took great care of our girls. A wonderful couple
Belinda and David are a wonderful couple who have just looked after our two dogs Nessa and Ziggy and our two chickens. They were kind enough to arrive the day before the sit to meet the dogs and go through the ropes with us to make sure everything was covered. During our trip we received regular updates and we were reassured that all was well at home and Ziggy and Nessa (and the chooks) were in very safe hands. We returned to a spotless home and extremely chilled dogs, not to mention a delicious pumpkin soup made from one growing in the garden! Belinda and David are lovely people that you can definitely trust to look after what is important to you and we highly recommend them for any type of sit Thanks B and D!

Heartedly recommend
Sadly I didn't get to meet Belinda & David, as I'd gone off early to do my own house sit in Ireland. My husband met them on the day of the sit. We had good regular comms prior to them arriving and during their stay. Belinda sent me pics of Jerri, so I knew she was settled and comfortable with her temporary owners. The house was clean and tidy on our return and a lovely card and bottle of wine had been left for us. I'd whole heartedly recommend Belinda and David to anyone. Many thanks both.

Very grateful
We were very grateful to have Belinda and Dave staying at our place. They carefully asked about the cats food and habits, every now and then sent us some pictures from the 2 :-), took care of the parcel... After 2 weeks we returned to a very clean home with two happy and healthy cats. Highly recommended. & Thank you very much for everything @Belinda!

Brilliant
This was our first time using house sitters and we could not have wished for a better experience. Belinda and David were completely brilliant from start to finish! They asked all the right questions to help us plan for their stay, and they left our home absolutely perfect...even washed the sheets and remade the bed for us! It was the first time we had left our youngest dog Nico, so I was concerned she may be unsettled. But Belinda and David are so experienced and such natural animal lovers, that they quickly won her trust, and I think Nico has really benefited from the experience. If these guys are available on the dates you need a sitter, you should snap them up as they are simply brilliant!

Would love to invite them back
Belinda and Dave were fantastic sitters for our three labradors and our home. Belinda kept in touch while we were away and our dogs appeared totally relaxed with their new house mates! Despite horrendous weather Belinda and Dave managed to exercise the dogs regularly and coped well with muddy paws and soggy fur! The house was clean and tidy on our return and Belinda had even washed the bed linen and towels for me. We would thoroughly recommend Belinda and Dave as house and pet sitters and would love to invite them back in the future.

Very good house sitters and dog careers
Belinda and Dave are very good house sitters and dog careers. Our home was left in good condition, clean, tidy and warm. Our two dogs were in excellent health and very happy when we arrived home. It was clear they loved Belinda and Dave and had been well cared for. We enjoyed the regular communication and photos of our dogs while we were away. One of the dogs has a serious chronic condition requiring twice daily medication; all his needs were well managed so that he was as healthy as when we left. Belinda and Dave were also both understanding and accommodating when we had to return early from our trip. They even left us a cooked meal which was very welcome after a long trip. Strongly recommend
We strongly recommend Belinda and Dave as house/pet-sitters. They looked after our house and chooks in Canberra for a month, and returned our house and garden to us in great and tidy shape, which was much appreciated. Their dedication to the care of our two hens was also impressive. One of our hens decided to become broody during the petsit and Belinda was diligent in researching what should be done to handle broody hens and consulted us regularly on her planned actions. We felt the chooks were in very good hands. They were good communicators and very pleasant people.

Our doggies were safe and happy
Belinda and Dave were super sitters as they had to bear with us to confirm ski dates as the tickets were not released until just before the sit was due! My dogs adored them and the house was super tidy and clean when we returned. I was also grateful for the message and photo updates as it made me feel our doggies were safe and happy at home.

Wonderful housesitters
Belinda and David were wonderful house sitters. I had to change the dates a couple of times and they were flexible and accommodating, with great communication between us all. Scout obviously had a great time, and was even taken away for a weekend getaway to the beach! Belinda sent me lots of photos of him enjoying himself, and he was certainly very fit and healthy, even having lost of bit of his middle-age tummy I think - so he had obviously been well exercised! The house was spotless on my return and I really could not recommend Belinda and David more highly. A very thoughtful, generous and kind couple.
