About this sitter

Hi, I’m Emi. I’m currently based in London, but I’ll be relocating to Prague this spring..

I’ve been house sitting since 2020, but I’ve decided to join MindMyHouse after a fellow sitter recommended the community to me. I’m a dual UK/Polish citizen and have lived in quite a few places over the years—from Indonesia and South Korea to China and Czechia—so I’m very used to settling into new environments and looking after different types of homes.

Why they want to house sit

I prefer experiencing new places from a local perspective, and house sitting allows for a much more authentic stay than a quick 'city break.'

I’m also a full-time cat sitter, so house sitting is a natural extension of what I already do. It’s a nice way to travel while spending time with animals and ensuring a home remains lived-in and secure while the owners are away.

Their experience

I’ve been cat sitting since 2017 and moved into doing it full-time in 2023. Cats are my main focus, and I’m continuously educating myself about them through feline-oriented courses to better understand them. I also hold a cat first aid certificate and have a current criminal record check.

I’ve worked with all sorts of cat purrsonalities, from nervous rescues who need time to settle to "Garfield-style" sofa sitters. While cats are my main focus, I grew up with dogs, hamsters, and even a dove, so I’m comfortable and confident around most animals.

What can they bring to the assignment

My priority is making sure your cats feel at ease while you're away. I understand their natural needs, so I make sure they get the right amount of playtime and attention. I’m also a non-smoker and a naturally tidy person, so I’ll keep your home exactly as I found it.

I’m more than happy to look after your plants too, as I have quite a few of my own:)
