About this sitter

Hi! I’m Daniel. I work from home as a Cloud Automation Engineer and enjoy traveling when I can. I love animals—even though I don’t currently have pets of my own—and I’ve house-sat for neighbors, caring for both dogs and cats (from routine feeding to staying a few days). I’m calm, clean, attentive, and tend to be the person at gatherings who naturally ends up keeping the pets company. Please contact me for any gigs!

I'm happy with remote, quiet locations or places within cities. I don't smoke or do any drugs. I modestly drink but only with family during the holidays - so literally a handful per year. I'm very fit and regularly run, rock climb, and love wilderness backpacking alone or with friends when they're available.

Why they want to house sit

I want more exposure to pets before settling down and deciding on one for myself. I’m also looking for calmer travel opportunities where I can live more like a local rather than as a tourist and feel part of the place.

Their experience

I have hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats in a variety of settings. I’ve house and pet-sat for neighbor, friend, and family dogs and cats with different temperaments—from very affectionate to more independent or easily overstimulated. I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable adapting to each animal’s needs.

I’m also open to learning and helping with additional animals, including homestead-style care such as chickens, goats, or similar, and I’m happy to follow routines and instructions carefully.

What can they bring to the assignment

Because I work from home, I’m naturally present in the house for much of the day, which allows me to maintain routines, provide regular companionship, and keep an eye on things. I enjoy going for runs and long walks, so I’m happy to give dogs the exercise and stimulation they need. I’m calm, attentive, respectful of the home, and take responsibility seriously. Depending on location I can bring my own vehicle, but if walking exclusively is on option I will take that opportunity.
