About this sitter
My name is Karin, and I'm German living on the west coast of Ireland. I speak German and English of course, and French. If possible, I could drive to the place of housesitting in my car. I'm looking for a rural place to spend some time in and get to know it.
Why they want to house sit
I love the idea of housesitting because I would be able to stay in a place like a local and get to know it from a different perspective than somebody staying in a hotel. And it's always good to help a fellow home owner out!
Their experience
I have been around animals all my life, from guinea pigs and cats to dogs. I'm not afraid of big animals like horses, cows etc., and enjoy being around any kind of animal. I have my own house, and often have house sitters staying with me/in the house, so I know the other (home owner) side of housesitting!
What can they bring to the assignment
I usually leave a place better than I found it. (In supermarkets, I have been known to turn wine bottles the right way, or hang clothes up on the hangers when fallen down - don't judge me!). I connect easily with animals and make them feel at ease, and I love playing with them, or going walkies.

A very warm, friendly and capable house/dog sitter.
Karin came from Ireland to look after the house and Marlie and Marlie immediately took to her! A really lovely lady who took great care of M, who can a bit reactive at times, and the house was impeccable when I returned home. She also dealt with a bit of an issue calmly and efficiently without any drama, when the back door got stuck and M was trapped in the garden, for which I am very grateful! A very dependable and interesting sitter, I can totally recommend her , and hope to see her again in the future. Thank you Karin for caring for M so well, and for the delicious smoked salmon.
