Hello, my name is Santosha — a middle-aged, reliable woman who lives simply, travels lightly, and treats every home I care for as a sanctuary. I don't drink or smoke.

I’ve been housesitting on and off for about 10+ years and always receive positive feedback.

My dedication as a mindfulness and meditation teacher and keeps me inspired and curious moving between countries, and housesitting allows me to root into each place to connect with the locals and learn the culture.

I choose house?sitting because I genuinely love a simple lifestyle, my own space, company with fluffy friends and time to work online.

I’m the kind of person who notices the small things — the rhythm of a home, the personality of a garden, the way animals communicate when they feel safe. I’m quiet, reliable, and deeply respectful of people’s spaces and routines.

Most of my days are spent writing, teaching online, or walking in nature, so I’m home a lot and able to give consistent care to pets and property. I don’t drink, smoke, or host guests. I simply enjoy peaceful environments and the feeling of belonging to a place, even for a short while.

I'm open to sitting in many beautiful places. Let me know your dates and I'll see what I can do. I prefer one month or longer. I have housesat for many years in Australia and every pet loves me!

Their experience

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for so many wonderful animals and homes throughout the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. Each one has touched my heart in a unique way, and I genuinely cherish the friendships I form with every furry friend.

There was Hercules, the gentle old soul of a dog, and King Zulu — the big, confident bush cat who absolutely ruled his bamboo-surrounded hinterland home. I loved tending that pool each morning, listening to the rustling leaves while King Zulu supervised from his throne.

Near Crystal Waters Permaculture Village in Queensland, Australia, I cared for a cheeky little parrot with a personality big enough to fill the whole house. And then there was sweet Lily-Mae, the tiny 13-year-old white dog who needed eye drops twice daily. She did the cutest little spin whenever she saw her leash, but her legs tired quickly, so I carried her in my arms whenever she needed a rest. Her companion, Charlie the friendly cat, was always nearby offering his quiet presence in their perfectly pink designer home in North Brisbane.

Jaya and Fifi, two beautiful cats I’ve looked after both in Maleny and later in South Brisbane, have completely different personalities—Jaya loves her belly rubs while Fifi prefers gentle head pats. Their differences always make me smile.

And of course, Louie the Labrador — who might just be my best friend in the entire world. His big warm heart, his soft eyes, and big cuddles melted my heart! There’s something about Louie that reminds me why I love doing this so much.

Milo was another unforgettable friend — an energetic outdoor cattle dog in Witta who seemed to have endless energy for walks and balls games! His excitement for adventure kept me laughing every day - as well as his need for love and snuggles! And his companion cat was just as impressive, effortlessly climbing ladders to the roof like it was the most natural thing in the world.

And the list truly does go on after so many years of housesitting!

When my daughter was in high school, we shared a few sits together in between our own moves. One included a small children’s python she thought was impossibly cool. Earlier still, when she was young, our home was always alive with animals — mice, rats, and cats — giving her the same gentle, respectful approach to animals that I carry with me today.

Animals have been part of my life everywhere I’ve lived and travelled. I’ve walked beside elephants in Asia, feeling their calm, ancient presence, and once leaned against a water buffalo in the Australian outback — a moment of pure, grounded connection I’ll never forget.

Caring for animals is truly a joy for me, and as I continue my nomadic journey, I’m now expanding my housesitting services to Europe, UK and surrounding regions. New countries, new cultures, and of course, new furry (or feathery!) friends to love.

I offer warmth, reliability, and wholehearted care — keeping pets happy and comfortable, homes beautifully maintained, and owners completely at ease while they’re away.

What can they bring to the assignment

Your pets will be treated like my new best friends with lots of cuddles and conversations. I am flexible according to the pet's needs including couch cuddles, sleeping on the bed or being let out at 5am for the toilet. If they're happy and content, so am I!

Note: Animals with anxiety love my gentle quiet reliable nature.

If you're pet has extreme issues with aggressive or biting, it's not for me.
