About this sitter
Hello! We're Dawna and Daniel, we love to travel and aim to do so about 6 months out of the year. Dawna works remotely as a Designer, and Daniel has a background in property management and runs a handyman business when we're not traveling. We're grateful for the opportunity to live a life that allows us to explore the world (and cuddle some pets along the way!) We love all animals in general, and have the most experience with cats and dogs, a little bit with fish. Dawna used to foster for the local humane society, mostly kittens and older cats which needed medical care and healing before they could be put up for adoption. We're happy to take care of the plant babies too!
Why they want to house sit
Aside from looking for more affordable ways to travel, we miss having pets! Housesitting allows us the best of both worlds: travel + pets. It's rewarding and re-grounding to be able to settle in a bit and spend time getting to know all the quirks and personalities of new animal friends. Looking forward meeting more!
Their experience
Dawna began house/pet sitting in 2021 as a way to travel and visit family, and Daniel joined in 2023. In that time we've cared for over 30 cats and dogs across six countries, getting to know them and their personalities like they are part of our family. We have experience administering medications, special feeding schedules, and anything else your pet might need!
What can they bring to the assignment
Experience with medications, senior cats and dogs, kittens, and puppies. We also have ample experience in home care and maintenance, and can help maintain gardens, houseplants, and pools too!

House and pet sit in Costa Rica
Dawna and Daniel did a two month house and pet sitting for me in Costa Rica. From our first messages followed by a video call, I felt very good with them. This is not only a private home, but a yoga center right in nature. They took the task on with an open and positive attitude. We spent a day together before my trip and I felt they listened really carefully to all the instructions and I could be at ease leaving. They are a kind, flexible and respectful couple. My cat can be a little challenging, but they bonded with him well and I knew the cat was loved and well taken cared of. I appreciated their messages and photos during their stay letting me know if anything needed attention at the property and how the cat is. The whole two months I did not worry, I felt they are trustworthy and caring people. Also very creative, I was surprised by a gift of a beautiful piece of art on my return. I would be happy to have Dawna and Daniel house sit again in the future and can recommend them 100% to others.
