About this sitter

We are a friendly and responsible Australian family who genuinely enjoy caring for homes and living well wherever we are in the world! My husband and I have been married for over 20 years and travel with our five homeschooled children. Because we live and work remotely in creative fields, our lifestyle allows us to settle into a home and care for it with attentiveness and respect.

Over the years we’ve had the opportunity to stay in and care for many different types of homes - from rural properties and farms to inner-city apartments - in Australia, Europe and the US. We understand the trust that comes with welcoming someone into your home, and we take that responsibility seriously. We are tidy, highly organised and treat every home we stay in as if it were our own.

We are a very homely family who love to we spend a lot of time together at home - reading, learning, cooking, creating, working - houses we care for are never left empty for long periods. We enjoy maintaining a calm, orderly household and are very comfortable looking after gardens, taking care of pets, keeping things clean and running smoothly, and making sure everything is just as it should be when owners return.

We enjoy house sits where we can settle into the rhythm of a home and town/city, care for it well and experience life as locals in a new place. Whether it’s a quiet suburban neighbourhood, a countryside property or a home in a vibrant city, we value the opportunity to live respectfully in someone else’s space and steward it with care.

Our goal is simple: that homeowners can travel with complete peace of mind, knowing their home is being carefully looked after by people who appreciate and respect it.

Why they want to house sit

As a family who travels together and works remotely, we love the opportunity to settle into a real home rather than just passing through as tourists. Being able to live as locals for a time allows us to slow down, appreciate the neighbourhood and experience a place in a more meaningful way.

We also genuinely enjoy caring for homes. We are naturally tidy, organised people who take pride in maintaining a peaceful, well-kept environment. Looking after a home while the owners are away feels like an honour and a responsibility we take seriously.

House sitting is also a wonderful way for our children to experience different parts of the world while learning to respect other people’s homes, spaces and communities. They have grown up understanding that when we stay somewhere, we leave it just as beautiful (or even better) than when we arrived.

For us it’s a simple exchange of trust - homeowners can travel knowing their home is being carefully looked after and we are grateful for the opportunity to live thoughtfully in a place that someone else loves.

Their experience

We have many years of experience caring for homes in a wide variety of settings. Over time we’ve stayed in and managed everything from rural properties and farms to suburban family homes and inner-city apartments, both in Australia and overseas.

We are naturally very tidy and well organised. We are comfortable and confident with the practical responsibilities that come with house sitting such as maintaining a clean and orderly home, watering plants and gardens, collecting mail, managing bins, caring for pets and generally ensuring everything runs smoothly while owners are away.

We understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our aim is always that homeowners return to a home that is well cared for and exactly as they left it.

What can they bring to the assignment

Caring for a home is something we take seriously as a family. In our own home we place a strong emphasis on responsibility, discipline and respect for our belongings and the spaces we live in. Our children grow up learning that a home functions well when everyone contributes, so daily chores and caring for shared spaces are simply part of family life for us. We teach them to treat not only their own things but also other people’s homes and belongings with great care and respect. Because of this, they are very mindful guests and understand the importance of leaving a place clean, orderly and well looked after. For us, these values are simply part of how we live and they naturally carry over into any home we have the privilege of caring for.

One of the unique things we bring to a house sit is the warmth and presence of a family who genuinely enjoys being at home. Because we travel and homeschool together, we spend much of our time reading, learning, cooking, creating and working as a family, which means the homes we care for are well occupied, secure and cared for throughout the day rather than sitting empty while people are out working long hours or off being tourists. We quickly settle into the rhythm of a home and take pride in maintaining it well. Many homeowners appreciate the peace of mind that comes from knowing their home is not sitting empty but is being lived in respectfully and cared for with attention.

One of our strengths as house sitters is that we treat every home with genuine respect. We understand that a home is personal and meaningful to the people who live there and we take that trust seriously. Our aim is always for homeowners to return to a home that feels exactly as they left it - well cared for, secure and welcoming.

Another thing we can bring to the assignment is...extra bedding! As a travelling family we are very flexible with sleeping arrangements and can happily bring anything that's needed to cater for a larger family. We never expect a home to accommodate a separate bed for each of our children - our younger kids are used to sharing beds and making things work comfortably, so don't let our family size be a concern, we are very flexible and happily adaptable!

Above all, we value clear communication, reliability and trust. Homeowners can feel confident knowing their home is being looked after by people who will care for it thoughtfully and responsibly. We truly value the trust involved in house sitting and aim for every homeowner to return to a home that feels peaceful, well cared for and exactly as they left it.

We would be delighted to care for your home and are always happy to chat or answer any questions if you feel we might be a good fit.
