About this sitter

As a semi-retired digital nomad, I have a lot of flexibility on when and where I travel. I've been a full-time traveler since 2022, traveling across the country (with an occasional international jaunt). My decade plus of running a bed and breakfast and hosting travelers means that I have made friends across the country and around the world. I genuinely enjoy people. When I'm not working, I'm hunting down labyrinths to walk, collecting good conversations, and finding the best ice cream shop in whatever town I'm in.
The fact that people trust me with the home they love is appreciated and NEVER abused.
I'm looking for a clean, tidy home to settle in for a few weeks (or longer, if you need me) to work remotely and explore the surrounding areas. Friendly neighbors are a definite plus, and if you are near a YMCA with a swimming pool (I try to swim 5 days a week), that would be a bonus. (It's a wish list item, not a deal breaker!)

Why they want to house sit

I'm looking to relocate and settle down somewhere new, but after 40+ years of living in Alaska, I still don't know *where*, so I appreciate the opportunity to spend some time exploring new cities, neighborhoods and communities.

Their experience

I ran a successful bed & breakfast out of my own home for over a decade, and I owned and loved that home for 20+ years, and spent over 25 years with the same financial institution in finance, risk management and business development. I know what it means to care for a home.

What can they bring to the assignment

People usually notice my direct personality first. I feel like I'm an open book. I'm unpretentious, unassuming and unimpressed by anything except genuine kindness and generosity of spirit. I don't wear a mask and I don't pretend. Some people find my authenticity a little intense at first. Most find it refreshing.
I'm tidy, self-sufficient, and proactively communicative— you'll hear from me BEFORE something becomes a problem, never after. I do some work remotely, so I'm genuinely present in your home, not just passing through.
I owned my home for decades and kept it guest ready year-round, so I know how to care for a home and yard (mine was a 13K sq ft lot, complete with water features and landscaping, all installed and maintained by me).
