Young couple with a strong love of animals and nature looking to make the most out of our gap year and explore the world while spending time with animals

About this sitter

I (Jorja) am 19 years old and am currently on my gap year before I go to uni to study Zoology as I have always had a strong interest and love for animals. I grew up with a variety of different pets (such as cats, dogs, fish, chickens, guinea pigs, hamsters) so have a good level of knowledge on how to look after animals. My boyfriend (Zak) is 18 years old and is also on a gap year before he starts an apprenticeship. Similar to me he has a deep love for animals and has experience looking after them as he helps me to look after my pets and has grown up around dogs. We both love nature and exploring what it has to offer. We are trying to make the most of our gap year by exploring the world and I want to gain even more experience with animals before I begin my university course.

Why they want to house sit

We both love animals and enjoy being around them and looking after them. We also both love travelling but are on a budget due to being on a gap year so house sitting is the perfect way for us to not only travel but to spend time with a variety of different animals and see different cultures.

Their experience

We have both grown up with a variety of different pets so have a good level of knowledge on how to clean out enclosures/ litter boxes, how to keep animals calm, happy and entertained and how to properly feed them and keep them safe. Our parents both work most days of the week so we are both experienced in house keeping duties and looking after ourselves as well as our pets.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are a chill couple who don't drink, smoke or go out for long periods of time so wouldn't leave pets for too long. We also enjoy staying in and playing board games and cooking so we would be able to keep animals company making ourselves good for the role.
