About this sitter
Our names are Martin and Katarina, we're fresh 40, based in Bratislava, Slovakia. We speak English, Spanish, and learn some German. I work as a supervisor in National Bank and Katka as PR manager for a gaming company.
We're travelling with our two kids Julius (9) and Agata (5). Our dog Blska had to stay home unfortunately as she's 13 years old.
Over the weekends, we take care of an old house on the Slovak countryside. We volunteered a lot when we were younger, and are now again taking some time off to do some travelling, housesitting and volunteering.
Why they want to house sit
Because we've had a lovely experience from La Gomera (Canary Islands), where we sat the house twice for a German owner for over a month in 2018. We took care of a big garden, watering system, cat and fish. It was a great mixture of being on a holiday but also have something to take care of besides of 1 small child.
Their experience
Apart from the housesitting we also had a couple of volunteering assignments in hospitality business in Central America via the helpx website. But that was back in 2014, without the kids yet :)
What can they bring to the assignment
I think we're very responsible, always taking care of the place like we would do if it was ours, either if we are housesitting or travelling commercially.

Perfect team for our house on La Gomera
I had a medical problem and had to leave the house unplanned. Katarina and Martin were available on very short notice, they came a few days after our first contact. They got an introduction in the house and in the complex watering system from a friendly neighbor. and managed everything successfully. They left the house in a perfect clean state. We had a very friendly and nice communication all the time via email and WhatsApp. They are the perfect house sitters and every house owner could be glad if they come for sitting. For the next time I need a house sitter I will ask them if they have time.
